HƯƠNG NHA (báo lao động) 22/04/2025 17:16 (GMT+7)

From 1,962 entries to the 19th National Press Awards, the Award's Secretariat selected 1,905 entries to the Preliminary Round.

On the morning of April 22, in Hanoi, the Preliminary Council of the 19th National Press Awards 2024 held an opening meeting of the Preliminary Scoring Round, discussing and agreeing on the criteria, scoring methods and scoring schedules of the Subcommittees.

Reporting on the synthesis of the preliminary round of judging works, Mr. Tran Thai Son - Head of the Award's Secretariat - said: The National Press Award has gone through 18 seasons accompanying the journalism life, becoming a truly useful professional activity, spreading widely at all levels of the Association, in the press and increasingly affirming its prestige as the most prestigious professional award for domestic journalists.

This year, the National Press Award received the participation of 17/21 Lien Chi associations, 29 affiliated associations and 59/63 Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations.

According to the preliminary assessment, the organization and implementation work at all levels of the Association has been implemented in a disciplined and effective manner.

However, because this year the implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW has more or less affected the progress of work selection in some localities, the submission of works to the Award is later than in previous years.

At the same time, this is also the first year that the Charter of the National Press Awards (amended and supplemented) 2024 with some regulations and a new group of awards has been implemented, so some levels of the Association have not closely followed the Instructions.

According to statistics from the General Secretariat, this year there are 1,962 entries to the Award, reaching the highest level ever.

Of which, 156 works were contributed by authors who are not members of the Vietnam Journalists Association. The Organizing Committee of the Award has pre-screamed 57 works and included 1,905 works in the Preliminary Round according to regulations.

This year, the National Press Awards have 2 new award groups: Multimedia Press (with 1 award group: Infographic, Video clips, Podcast, Live-stream...) and Creative Press (with 1 award group: Works, products, creative press programs).

In which, the following types: Radio, television, electronic newspapers, multimedia journalism and creative journalism are graded online through the award ceremony software of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Preliminary Council - expressed his joy that the 19th National Press Awards in 2024 had the largest number of press works ever participated.

This shows the strong attraction of the Award and the interest and active response of Journalists' Associations at all levels, especially at a time when press agencies are focusing on the organization and reorganization work according to the revolution of streamlining the apparatus of the Party and State" - Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized.
