1,500 women parade, honoring traditional Vietnamese ao dai
An Giang - 1,500 women parade in Ao Dai, honoring traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai to celebrate the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day.
On the morning of March 1, at Trung Nu Vuong Construction Site (Long Xuyen City), the Women's Union in coordination with the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation organized a Festival to honor traditional Vietnamese ao dai (Fest) to celebrate the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day on March 8 (March 8, 2010 - March 8, 2025), the year of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising in 1985 and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Attending were Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao - Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; Mr. Le Van Nung - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Vice President of the Provincial People's Committee Ms. Phan Thi Diem - President of the Provincial Women's Union, Ms. Lu Thi Kim Thuy - Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation (Head and Deputy Head of the Festival Organizing Committee) and representatives of relevant agencies, guests and 1,500 cadres, civil servants, public employees, women, students in Long Xuyen City participating in the parade in traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai costumes.
In particular, there was the participation of the delegation of the Cambodian Women's Union for Peace and Development of Takeo and Kandal provinces ( Kingdom of Cambodia) led by Ms. Kea Sophou, President of the Cambodian Women's Union for Peace and Development of Takeo province and Ms. Srun Sreyneang - President of the Cambodian Women's Union for Peace and Development of Kandal province ( Kingdom of Cambodia).
In her welcoming speech, Ms. Phan Thi Diem - President of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union, Head of the Organizing Committee - emphasized: "This is an activity in response to "Ao Dai Week" launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union to arouse pride and responsibility in preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage in each citizen; affirming and honoring the value of Ao Dai, creating a spreading effect in the community, promoting the image of Ao Dai Vietnam to people and international friends; contributing to making the values of Ao Dai Vietnam an intangible cultural heritage".
With the theme "Solidarity - Creativity - Integration - Development", the event of the Festival to honor traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai was organized with many meaningful events, such as: Repeating the heroic tradition of Vietnamese women in building the country, defending the country and building a socialist society; performing art with the theme of Vietnamese Ao Dai, performing Ao Dai with the theme "Ao Dai - Vietnamese soul" ... and finally a parade to honor traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai.
1,500 female cadres, civil servants, public employees, members, women, students in Long Xuyen City in traditional Vietnamese ao dai holding high arms and waving the national flag around the Queen Mother's Mausoleum and President Ton Duc Thang Monument... have contributed to spreading the spirit of national pride and Vietnamese ao dai pride.
