HCMC strives for 100% of adults with basic digital skills
HCMC On the morning of October 11, the launching ceremony of the digital education revolution movement for the 2025-2026 period took place at the Youth Cultural House.
The movement aims to concretize the policies of the Party, State and Ho Chi Minh City on digital transformation, associated with the accompanying role of the Fatherland Front in propagating and raising awareness for the people.
The goal of the movement is to popularize basic digital knowledge and skills to the people, ensuring an "all-people, comprehensive, no one is left behind" approach.
The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee emphasized that the "digital education movement" is a testament to the city's determination to build a learning society and digital citizens. In the 2025-2026 period, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee aims to focus on 3 main focuses.
First, popularize digital skills, strive to have 100% of cadres, civil servants, and public employees proficient in digital platforms and 100% of adults with basic digital skills, confirmed on the VNeID platform by 2026.
Second, expand community digital classes, improve the activities of digital technology groups, and at the same time deploy creative models such as "digital family", "digital ambassador", "digital market", "each citizen - a digital identity"...
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City will also promote practical experience activities, organized locally, cultural houses, community centers, combined directly and online, simple and easy-to-understand content, closely following the motto "understand immediately, do it, use immediately".
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized that for the movement to be effective, it requires all levels, sectors, and socio-political organizations to enhance their roles and responsibilities, especially the leader, in leadership and direction of implementation. She emphasized 4 activities that need to be implemented immediately after the launching ceremony, including: Essential application guidelines, promoting core forces, deploying a spreading model and focusing on new skills to achieve the set goals.
The digital education movement is not just an administrative task but a mass mobilization for the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City in the digital age, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy shared.
Speaking in response to the movement, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that this movement not only contributes to the successful implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, but also helps bring science, technology and innovation into people's lives, becoming a new resource for the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City in the new period.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City calls on all organizations, agencies, units, cadres, party members, union members, association members and people of the city to unanimously respond and actively participate in the movement of digital education, so that every citizen of the city can know, understand, use and master digital technology, contributing to building Ho Chi Minh City to develop rapidly, sustainably, civilized, modernly and with gratitude, Mr. Tuan said.
