In the context of many low-lying areas, there are still many poor households, policy families and children in difficult circumstances struggling to take care of daily necessities, from accommodation, living to studying. For low-income people, problems such as degraded roofs, lack of warm clothes in winter or the risk of children having to drop out of school due to lack of money are not only immediate difficulties, but can have a long-term impact on the life and future of the whole family.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, Secretary of the Youth Union of Hoa Binh ward (Phu Tho) - said that from that reality, many activities to support the disadvantaged have been implemented by mass organizations in the area in a practical and long-term direction, focusing on the most basic needs of the people.

One of the priority contents is supporting the construction and repair of houses for poor households and families in especially difficult circumstances. Through the "For the Poor" Fund and the contributions of organizations, businesses, philanthropists, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, and other organizations, the Great Unity House has been completed and handed over to a number of households. The houses are supported with appropriate funding, ensuring minimum living conditions, helping people have more stable and safer housing, reducing worries about changes in life.

Not only stopping at housing issues, temporary difficulties, especially during the winter and Tet, are also of interest to the Youth Union organizations. According to Mr. Hung, the program "Winter Volunteer 2025 - Spring Volunteer 2026" organized by the Hoa Binh Ward Youth Union in coordination with the Van Son Commune Youth Union (Phu Tho) has targeted households and children in difficult circumstances in Van Son Commune. Through the program, tons of clothes, necessities, school supplies, warm blankets and Tet gifts were given to people, contributing to helping people overcome the cold winter and have more conditions to celebrate Tet.

In addition to short-term support activities, long-term companionship with disadvantaged children is also considered a more sustainable requirement. From there, the model "Ads of the Youth Union" was implemented, with each Youth Union and Youth Union member registering to sponsor students in difficult circumstances, orphaned or from poor or near-poor households. The support content is not only living expenses, books, clothes, but also a companion in studying, encouraging spirit and training orientation.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, the common point of these activities is that they come from the actual needs of the people, are implemented on a moderate scale but are maintained regularly, to help vulnerable groups gradually stabilize their lives. Supporting not only solves immediate difficulties, but more importantly, it creates more confidence for people and children to feel secure in their rise, Mr. Hung shared.

From repaired houses, winter gifts to support for disadvantaged children, activities at the facility are contributing to gradually narrowing social gaps. There, kind acts are not noisy, but persistent, starting from the community where people live.
