Khmer people express their hope for the 14th National Party Congress
Can Tho - During the 14th National Party Congress, the Khmer people expect a policy that is close to reality and improves people's lives.
The 14th National Congress of the Party is a political event of special significance to the country, marking a new development period with many intertwined opportunities and challenges. In that context, all classes of people, including the Khmer ethnic people in the Southwest region, expressed their confidence and expectations in strategic policies and decisions that are close to reality and towards sustainable development.

As a cadre and Party member of ethnic minorities living and working in Co Do commune (Can Tho city), Mr. Thach Sang (57 years old) expressed his high expectations for the 14th National Congress of the Party.
According to Mr. Sang, this Congress needs to continue to select, introduce and elect cadres with virtue, talent, true enthusiasm, close to the people, and understanding the people to lead the country in the new development stage.
Mr. Thach Sang said that in the coming time, it is necessary to promote propaganda work so that ethnic minorities better understand the policies of the Party and the State, especially policies that are suitable to the actual conditions at the grassroots level, helping people feel secure in working, producing and developing the economy. Propaganda needs to be proactive, easy to understand, and easy to implement so that the policy can truly come into life.

He proposed that the Party and State continue to pay more attention to essential social security issues for ethnic minorities, especially housing, tuition support, health insurance for disadvantaged households, and at the same time invest in building and upgrading bridges, roads, and schools in rural areas and areas with many difficulties, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
In particular, he expressed his desire to have more models linking agricultural and aquatic product consumption, helping people have stable output, increase income, thereby contributing to improving the lives and strengthening the trust of ethnic minorities in the Party and the State.

Venerable Ly Hung - Member of the Trial Council, Deputy Head of the Central Legal Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Head of the Trial Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho City, Permanent Deputy Head of the Association of Patriotic Monks and Monks in Can Tho City said that the reality of the Southwest region shows that the level of socio-economic development between ethnic groups is still different. The lives of a part of ethnic minorities, especially in remote areas, still face many difficulties and need to continue to be cared for by synchronous and long-term policies.
In addition, the education level in the Khmer community, although improved, is not really uniform. Investing in human resource education and training, especially young cadres of ethnic minorities, is of great significance in creating a foundation for socio-economic development and strengthening the political system at the grassroots level.
From the above reality, Venerable Ly Hung expressed his hope that the 14th National Party Congress will continue to affirm the viewpoint of creating conditions for ethnic minorities to participate more and more effectively in the political system at all levels, towards reaching a proportion commensurate with the population structure. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to selecting and arranging outstanding cadres, civil servants, and public employees who are ethnic minorities and have the capacity to take key leadership and management positions.
Along with that, the Congress is expected to propose a specific mechanism for localities to proactively develop a roadmap for recruitment, planning, training and use of ethnic minority cadres, in accordance with the characteristics of each locality. This is not only a solution to develop human resources but also contributes to strengthening the trust of the Khmer people, strengthening the great national unity bloc in the new development stage of the country.
