Gia Lai Police quickly rebuild houses for people in flood-hit areas before Tet

In recent days, the Gia Lai Provincial Police force has urgently deployed the "Quang Trung Campaign" - rapidly building and repairing houses for people affected by the historic storm and flood, and soon rebuilding shelters before the Lunar New Year 2026.

At the Hai Bac hamlet resettlement area (Quy Nhon Dong ward), police officers and soldiers directly supported Mr. Le Thach Ngap's family to build a new house, the foundation has now been completed and the remaining items are being continued.

According to Mr. Ngap, his family's house was completely destroyed by the storm, and the whole family had to stay with relatives. Now supported to rebuild a new, solid house, his family has peace of mind to stabilize their lives.

"With a house, I feel secure to continue to stick to the sea. We would like to thank the police officers for their support and help rebuild the house," Mr. Ngap said excitedly.

In the "Quang Trung Campaign", the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Gia Lai Province Police directly supported the construction of 25 new houses in the Hai Bac hamlet resettlement area, closely following the progress of each item. Whether it is sunny or rainy, officers and soldiers are flexible in deploying their work to ensure progress.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Tuan - Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - said that the officers and soldiers of the unit directly helped people build houses, ensuring progress as required. When the weather is favorable, the force takes advantage of the opportunity to work quickly and early; when it rains, they switch to preparation work to avoid interrupting construction.

In Tuy Phuoc commune, the commune police, the provincial police's Internal Security Department and the military force directly participated in dismantling collapsed houses, clearing the ground, transporting materials, building and repairing houses for 4 households that suffered heavy damage.

According to Colonel Duong Van Long - Deputy Director of Gia Lai Provincial Police, in the "Quang Trung Campaign", the Provincial Police were assigned to support people in building new and repairing 106 houses. The workload is large and spread across many areas, so from the beginning, the unit proactively divided the force into specific working groups, closely following each household and each project.

Each house has the participation of the Provincial Police, Commune Police, Ward Police and security forces at the grassroots level. The "working to-house" approach helps the construction work to take place continuously and promptly handle arising problems.

Colonel Duong Van Long emphasized that for households whose houses were collapsed or damaged, the police force identified this as a family situation. Deploying the task with a determined spirit, working regardless of day off, no hours, no rain or shine, with the goal of having a house and stabilizing their lives by the Lunar New Year 2026.

According to the plan, Gia Lai province rebuilt 674 houses that were completely collapsed and washed away, striving to complete before January 25, 2026; repaired 31,955 houses that were severely damaged, to be completed before December 31, 2025. The province also implemented 16 emergency resettlement projects and plans for households in disaster areas, expected to be completed before January 31, 2026.

To date, 100% of newly built houses have been started, the construction and completion progress has reached about 67%. For houses in need of repair, 100% of houses in need have been implemented, of which more than 91% have been basically repaired.

Regarding resources, Gia Lai province has allocated 150 billion VND from the central government's support and provincial budget reserves to localities, ensuring that people have the conditions to promptly repair their housing and stabilize their lives.
