Border Spring Program warms the hearts of villagers in the Can Tho coastal border area
Can Tho - The City Border Guard presented houses, Tet gifts, scholarships, and free medical examinations, demonstrating responsibility and gratitude to the people of the coastal border area.
On December 23, at Vinh Hai Border Guard Station, the Border Guard Command of Can Tho City organized the program "Spring Border Guard Warms the hearts of the villagers" in 2026. This is the unit chosen to organize first in the series of activities for the 2026 Military-Civilian Tet of the city.

The "Spring Border Guard Warms the hearts of the villagers" festival is an annual activity, expressing gratitude of the officers and soldiers of the Can Tho City Border Guard to the people of the coastal border area who have loved, protected, supported, and stood side by side with the Border Guard force in the cause of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty, security of the border, sea and islands of the Fatherland.
Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented 10 "Great Unity" houses worth 60 million VND each; 300 banh tet, 1 ton of rice, 102 gifts worth 750 thousand VND each, to households in difficult circumstances in Vinh Hai commune; presented 11 scholarships in the Project "Army officers and soldiers to support children to go to school" in 2025, each worth 7.4 million VND; 40 scholarships each worth 500,000 VND for students in the program "Helping children go to school".
In addition, there are also activities of free medical examination and medicine supply for people; cultural, artistic, sports and traditional game exchanges; "Zero-dong stalls"; "Border Guard Traffic" model. The total cost of the program is nearly 800 million VND.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City emphasized: With the motto The home is the border, the homeland is the homeland, the people of all ethnic groups are brothers, the activities of the Program have deeply demonstrated love and responsibility, competence, sharing sweetness, respect of the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard to the people in the coastal border area.
In recent times, the Can Tho City Border Guard has effectively participated in implementing the program "Border Guard joins hands to build new rural areas"; maintained good implementation of programs such as: "Showing up your steps to go to school"; "Adopted children of the Border Guard Station", "Border Guard medicine cabinet", "Accompanying border women". In particular, the "Zero-dong booth" model is one of 15 typical examples of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style to be honored in the Southern region in 2025. Thereby, it has contributed to strengthening the people's trust in the Party, State, and Army and promoting the strength of the entire people in participating in protecting the sovereignty and security of the country's maritime border.

Ms. Dao suggested that the unit needs to grasp and comprehensively assess, promptly, closely and accurately forecast the situation that will impact and affect the task of managing, protecting sovereignty and security of the border in coastal areas. Actively fight against and chase all types of crimes in the area, especially before, during and after the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo in 2026. Departments, branches, unions at the Party Committee level, and local authorities continue to closely coordinate, in which the armed forces are the core, the Border Guard is the responsibility, contributing to the border and islands with specific and practical actions.
