Union Tet gifts help make workers' Tet meal trays more spacious

Spreading practical care to workers

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2026, the atmosphere in Vinh Long province's industrial parks is warmed up by the practical care activities of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers.

Amid the pressure of spending at the end of the year and job fluctuations, thousands of union members and workers in difficult circumstances have been motivated by meaningful Tet gifts, contributing to reducing worries before the New Year.

According to the 2026 Tet care plan, the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor will implement a support program with a total budget of more than 6.27 billion VND, giving 11,358 Tet gifts and subsidies to union members and workers in the area.

Of which, there are 4,808 hardship allowances, each worth 500,000 VND; 6,250 gifts through the form of "Online Tet Market", helping workers proactively choose necessities suitable for family living conditions.

In addition to local resources, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also supported Vinh Long province with 300 gifts, each worth 1.3 million VND for especially difficult cases, contributing to expanding the scope of care for Tet.

At the gift-giving points, many workers could not hide their emotions when receiving timely attention. Although the gifts are not of great value, they have spiritual significance, helping workers feel more secure in sticking with the business.

Ms. Le Thi Mai - a garment worker in Phu Quoi commune - said that this year, her income did not increase due to less overtime, while living expenses increased, causing many pressures for her family to prepare for Tet. "The 500,000 VND subsidy comes at the right time, helping to reduce anxiety and have more conditions to shop for Tet for families, especially for young children," Ms. Mai shared at the gift-giving ceremony.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Hoang Nam - a worker at Megasurplus VN Shoes Co., Ltd. in Tan Ngai ward - said that he has to take care of his elderly parents, so the Tet gift from the Union helps his family have more snacks for Tet.

Affirming the accompanying role of the Trade Union organization

Not only giving gifts, working delegations of the Provincial Federation of Labor also directly visited and grasped the concerns of workers at many enterprises such as Kyungshin Vietnam, Garment Vinh Tien, Unisoll Vina, promptly recording recommendations on wages, jobs, and working conditions.

Through direct visits to the facility, the Provincial Trade Union promptly grasps the reality of workers' lives, thereby adjusting the content to care for needs closely, ensuring support for the right subjects, at the right time during Tet.

Ms. Pham Thi Diem Trang - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Ty Thanh Company (Ba Tri Commune) - said that the timely attention of the superior Trade Union creates a connection between workers and enterprises, helping workers feel secure in their long-term commitment.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the Trade Union proactively mobilized resources to take care of the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year for workers and laborers.

According to Mr. Linh, diversifying forms of support, from cash subsidies to online Tet Markets, helps workers easily access policies. The coordination of departments and branches demonstrates the common responsibility to care for social security.

"Spring Binh Ngo is approaching, the gifts of gratitude given have contributed to heating up the joy of Tet for thousands of workers in Vinh Long, affirming that the Trade Union is a reliable support," Mr. Linh added.
