Giving gifts to connect the community in Vinh Long, Can Tho in the spring

A series of community activities were held in Vinh Long province and Can Tho city on January 17 and 18, creating a cohesive Tet space, helping people participate in cultural activities and share the joy of the beginning of the year.

At Vinh Long Square and Vinh Chau Ward (Can Tho), the Organizing Committee presented Tet gifts to 900 households in difficult circumstances and border guards and soldiers on duty to protect the area.

Each gift includes necessities, banh tet, Tet jam and lucky money envelope, showing concern and encouragement, contributing to helping many families celebrate Tet in a warmer and more fulfilling atmosphere.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province - said that the Tet gift-giving activity has profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the community's support for people in difficulty.

The gifts are not only material support but also a source of spiritual encouragement, helping people clearly feel the care and sharing of society during the coming of Tet and spring, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh emphasized.

In parallel with gift-giving activities, the program also organizes a Tet experience space with many interactive areas, recreating the vibrant spring atmosphere through cultural activities and entertainment imbued with traditional identity.

Notable is the banh tet wrapping contest, where people participate in preparing Tet dishes, experiencing familiar spring tasks, contributing to preserving the beauty of the Tet culture of the Southwest region.

In addition, performances, petitions, Tet photos, and folk games attract a large number of people to participate, creating a space for exchange and connection between generations in the community.

Ms. Patsy Lim - Deputy General Director in charge of Marketing and Corporate Communications of SABECO - said that through Tet gift giving activities, businesses hope to contribute to connecting the community, spreading the spirit of sharing on the occasion of the New Year.

According to the Organizing Committee, Vinh Long and Can Tho are two of 16 localities implementing a series of Tet gift-giving activities from January 10 to February 8, 2026, continuing the journey of caring for and connecting communities across the country.
