Workers hope to improve policies on wages and housing
On the eve of the 14th National Congress of the Party, many union officials and workers expressed their hope that the Party will have decisions on wages, housing, and education to improve the qualifications of workers.
Mr. Cu Phat Nghiep - Chairman of the Trade Union of PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd.:
Under the leadership of the Party, our country is always politicalally stable, secure, orderly, and social security is guaranteed, these are good conditions to attract foreign investment, contributing to solving employment for people, and the lives of workers are increasingly improved and enhanced.
However, many workers still have to rent a house to live and work. At PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd., about 50% of the nearly 41,000 employees still have to rent a house near the company to work. With an average income of about 12 million VND/person/month, it is very difficult for workers to buy a house to live in.
Therefore, workers hope that the Party will have decisions to speed up the construction of low-cost social housing for workers to buy or rent long-term to stabilize their lives.
In addition, workers also want to reduce working hours. According to current regulations, workers still have to work 48 hours/week, so there is very little time to rest to rest to restore labor, take care of family and children.

Our country is entering an era of extensive integration and comprehensive digital transformation, with people and knowledge at the center. To go far and wide, especially the workforce, those who directly create success, need to constantly study. General Secretary To Lam has repeatedly emphasized that the spirit of lifelong learning is the pillar of a developed country. However, workers still face many barriers in terms of finance, time and opportunities to access new knowledge.
When equipped with modern knowledge, the benefits will spread to each individual, business and the whole society. Therefore, I hope that the Party and State will expand scholarship policies, exempt tuition fees and support learning for workers, especially in key areas such as artificial intelligence, information technology, automation, and foreign languages, so that workers have the opportunity to study for life, and together with the country firmly enter a new era.

The draft documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party clearly demonstrate the concern for increasing income, improving working conditions, ensuring social security, housing, health care and living environment for workers. This is the foundation for employees to feel secure in sticking with the enterprise, actively working, being creative and contributing.
For the younger generation, the orientations of the 14th National Congress of the Party will open up opportunities for learning, improving skills, mastering science - technology, innovation, meeting the requirements of the new development period. We believe that, with Resolution 57-NQ/TW "On breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation", together with the leadership of the Party, in the coming time, it will bring practical changes to the development of the country in general and workers in particular.

Currently, there are still a number of female workers and laborers with young children, and their lives are still facing many difficulties and hardships when their income is not high. Therefore, the majority of workers hope that the 14th National Congress of the Party will pay attention, lead and direct the development of a "salary for life" mechanism instead of just "minimum wage". The salary of employees must be guaranteed to be enough to regenerate labor capacity, support at least one dependent person and have small savings to prevent time mistakes.
In addition, there should be effective measures to stabilize market prices, especially electricity, water, and accommodation prices in areas with a large concentration of workers.
Female workers are a valuable asset but are also vulnerable, so it is necessary to include obstetrics and gynecology examination and cervical cancer/ breast cancer screening in the list of mandatory annual periodic health check-ups paid by the enterprise and included in the enterprise's reasonable costs. The State also needs to prioritize land funds for the construction of public kindergartens near industrial parks so that workers can feel secure sending their children to work and produce. Solving the problem of wages and social security for workers in general and female workers in particular will contribute to stabilizing political and social order in the locality.
