Donated heart continues to write lives
Vinh Long - Organ stele is an invaluable gift, saving lives on the brink and spreading a humane message of profound meaning in the community.
When life is shared with all your heart
Organ donation is not only a medical procedure but a noble journey of humanity, where death becomes the beginning of new life. People who are simple and patient, voluntarily register to donate their bodies to medicine, and wish to contribute to life even when their breath is gone.
A typical example is Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, born in 1965, residing in Luc Si Thanh commune. As a retired worker, he lives a simple life but his humane views make many people admire him.
Mr. Toan said that more than 5 years ago, he quietly completed the procedures to donate the body to medicine. For him, if the body can save people or serve research, it is a complete happiness.
What is appreciated is that his heart spreads to his partner. Witnessing her husband's determination, his wife also prepared to register to donate organs. The consensus of the elderly couple in the river village is a vivid proof of the saying "giving is forever", turning the love of a couple into a great love for humanity.

Not only in the post-production age, the younger generation also imbued with the spirit of organ donation. Mr. Tran Kim Phan and his wife, born in 1995, working at the Vinh Long Provincial Youth Union, chose their own way to mark their marriage milestone. In 2021, before getting married, they signed an organ donation letter instead of luxurious material gifts.
Mr. Phan confided: "We consider this the most beautiful and meaningful memory for the marriage. Signing an organ donation application helps to better understand the value of life and responsibility to the community. The decision of the young couple overcame prejudice, affirming that the young generation is dynamic, lives ideally and is rich in humanity.
Efforts to overcome difficulties to unleash charity in Vinh Long
According to Mr. Tu Minh Dien - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, the work of mobilizing tissue and organ donation in the area is showing signs of optimism. The whole province currently has nearly 200 volunteers registering to donate organs and bodies. This is an encouraging number, reflecting the increasingly positive awareness of the people.
However, the mobilization work is more difficult than voluntary blood donation. The biggest obstacle is customs and practices, many people, even though they have a desire to donate, face opposition from their families. Propaganda requires perseverance, sophistication and medical knowledge to explain correctly and avoid misunderstandings about organ trafficking.

Mr. Nguyen Van Be Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that organ donation has profound human values and great medical significance. An organ donor who dies can save the lives of 68 people waiting for a transplant, a real miracle, the last hope for patients with end-stage organ failure.
Currently, Vinh Long does not have an official tissue donation association, limiting connectivity and professionalism. The health sector will coordinate with departments, manage the list of donors and train doctors and nurses to be active propagandists.
"Each organ donation letter lights up hope for lives that are fading away. Mr. Toan, Mr. Phan and hundreds of volunteers like that flower reminded me that happiness is knowing how to give away precious things," Mr. Hai added.
