Proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of Trade Union activities

The Son La Provincial Federation of Labor believes that the Draft Document of the 14th National Party Congress has identified the key task: Building a modern and strong Vietnamese working class with strong political will, class awareness, national pride and truly the class to lead the revolution through the Communist Party of Vietnam.

This is a strategic orientation, affirming the position of the working class in the context of the country promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration. Faced with new opportunities and challenges, promoting the pioneering and core role of the Trade Union organization is the key to achieving the goals set by the Party. In that spirit, the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor proposed to add a number of contents and solutions to improve the effectiveness of Trade Union activities in the current period.

Regarding the representative role of the Trade Union organization, the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor suggested that it is necessary to clarify and elevate the position of the Trade Union as the only representative organization, with enough courage and capacity to represent, care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers. This needs to be emphasized in the context of increasingly complex and diverse labor relations.

Regarding the "moderation" of the working class and trade union organizations, in addition to clearly stating the goal of building a working class that is strong in quality and quantity, it is necessary to supplement content on building a modern trade union organization. Modernism here is not only an idea but also an innovation of the organizational model, methods of operation, and application of digital technology to enhance connectivity and operational efficiency, in line with the trend of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Regarding the mechanism for social supervision and reflection, it is necessary to supplement specific regulations on the mechanism for trade unions to exercise the right to supervise and provide social reflection on the implementation of policies and laws related to employees.

Innovation of organization and methods of operation

To turn the Party's strategic orientations into specific and practical actions, according to the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor, the Trade Union organization needs to focus on a number of solutions.

One of them is to innovate the organization and methods of operation. Accordingly, it is necessary to increase attractiveness and cohesion: Innovation in content, form and methods of operation to attract union members, especially young workers. Activities need to be associated with practical benefits, creating a vibrant cultural, sports and learning living environment so that employees feel that the Trade Union is their common home. modernize management and propaganda work: Promote the application of information technology to union member management, propagate policies, laws and connect with employees quickly and effectively through digital platforms.

The next solution is to improve the quality of the working class by taking care of the material and spiritual life, implementing specific projects to build "Union institutions" such as housing, kindergartens, and supermarkets with preferential prices for workers. Promote social security activities, care for, visit and gather union members in difficult circumstances. Comprehensive training and fostering, closely coordinating with enterprises and State agencies to organize vocational training programs, improving professional qualifications and skills for employees.

In addition, it enhances political reasoning training, equips with legal knowledge and soft skills, helping workers confidently participate and develop.

The Son La Provincial Federation of Labor also proposed solutions to promote its representative role and protect legitimate rights and interests, including improving collective bargaining capacity through enhancing training and fostering bargaining skills for union officials. Encourage and support grassroots trade unions to effectively organize negotiations, signings and supervision of the implementation of the Collective Labor Agreement. Legal consulting and support activities, building legal consulting centers in industrial parks and export processing zones to support workers when labor disputes arise.

Regarding solutions to build political courage and class awareness, the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor believes that it is necessary to strengthen political and ideological education, promote propaganda, political and ideological education, revolutionary traditions, national spirit and class pride.
