Many recommendations for trade unions in Khanh Hoa to better care for workers after the merger

Reviewing and perfecting grassroots trade union organizations

Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) has just held a conference to deploy trade union tasks for the last 6 months of 2025 to grassroots trade unions (CDCS) at three locations: Cam Ranh, Ninh Hoa and Van Ninh.

In Cam Ranh, the conference was chaired by Mr. Phan Thanh Liem - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor.

According to the orientation, in the last 6 months of the year, trade union activities in the province will focus on a number of key tasks such as: Propaganda, stabilizing the ideology of union members and workers after the process of arranging and merging provinces.

The Provincial Federation of Labor and specialized departments will review and systematize data on the number of grassroots unions, operating status, number of union members and finance at the grassroots level; at the same time, build a grassroots union database according to the new administrative unit.

Each professional department of the Provincial Federation of Labor will be assigned to be in charge of clusters, areas and directly approach the grassroots trade union to support the following contents: Financial work; instructions on procedures for changing seals, names, administrative documents; the process of perfecting the Executive Committee when there are personnel changes...

Along with that, the Provincial Federation of Labor will organize programs to care for union members' lives at the grassroots level; promote propaganda about new legal policies that directly affect workers such as the Law on Social Insurance, the Law on Trade Unions, adjusting regional minimum wages, etc.

The Provincial Federation of Labor also deploys the work of developing union members and establishing trade union organizations in units that do not have trade union organizations. Especially enterprises and units that do not receive 100% of their salaries from the State budget.

Need for support and guidance on stabilizing the organizational apparatus

At the meeting with representatives of grassroots trade unions in wards and communes in Ninh Hoa and Van Ninh, Ms. Tran Thi Huong - Vice President of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, concurrently Head of the Industrial Park Trade Union, shared about the activities of the trade union organization.

Accordingly, from July 1, 2025, after the end of district-level activities, 102 grassroots unions that do not receive 100% of their salaries from the State budget in these two areas will be transferred under the management of the Provincial Federation of Labor.

For problems related to procedures for changing the names and seals of grassroots trade unions after the merger, the provincial trade union officials will directly guide. In particular, it is noted that grassroots unions must complete all related documents and certificates according to the old name before proceeding with changing the seal.

Representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of some communes and wards expressed concern that there are no specific instructions from higher-level trade unions on the organization and operation of trade unions in communes, wards and special zones.

The opinions suggested that the Provincial Federation of Labor promptly support and guide the grassroots trade unions to stabilize the organization, personnel and finance so as not to disrupt the rights of union members.

The grassroots trade union recommends promoting the organization of movements, gathering by cluster, industry or area to facilitate the implementation of internal activities and communication.
