Opening of the 1st Hung Yen Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030

The Congress was attended by Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), leaders of Hung Yen province; and 400 official delegates representing more than 300,000 workers, civil servants and laborers in Hung Yen province.

The first Hung Yen Provincial Trade Union Congress is of special significance, marking a milestone after the merger and reorganization of trade union organizations at all levels. The Congress marked a fundamental change in the organizational model and methods of Trade Union activities in the new period.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress focused on evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the Provincial Trade Union Congress and the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 2023-2025 period; at the same time, setting out goals, directions, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term, contributing to implementing the Resolution of the 1st Party Congress of Hung Yen Province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the congress, Ms. Do Thi Huong - President of the Hung Yen Provincial Federation of Labor said that the Congress has an important task: Summarizing and comprehensively and objectively evaluating the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in the 2023-2025 period, as set out in the Resolution of the Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2023-2028.

Affirming the role, position, and great contributions of the Trade Unions at all levels and the team of cadres, union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers in all areas of social life, contributing to creating achievements in economic, cultural, social, national security, national defense development and building the political system of the province.

The Congress will draw lessons from the process of directing and organizing, implementing trade union activities and the movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers; at the same time, reviewing the leadership and direction of the Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee in organizing the implementation of work tasks for the period 2023-2025.

On that basis, the Congress will decide on the goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress will discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and propose amendments and supplements to the Charter of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The Congress Presidium believes that: With the cultural tradition and solidarity of the team of cadres, union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in the province, the Congress will successfully complete the assigned tasks, worthy of the trust of Party committees at all levels, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, departments, branches, unions and of cadres, union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in the province" - Ms. Huong emphasized.

Previously, in the first working session, the Congress elected the Presidium, Secretariat, and the Delegation Inspection Committee; and at the same time approved the Congress's working program and regulations.
