More than 500 workers in Vinh Long enjoy the Union Meal

Workers hope to maintain meaningful meals

On the morning of August 8, more than 500 workers at the branch of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Vinh Long participated in the Union Meal program organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor in coordination with the company's grassroots union.

Unlike the usual portion, today's meal is worth 50,000 VND, including dishes such as: roast pork, duck, minced meat soup, pork sausage, fruit, ... carefully prepared, ensuring nutrition, safety and richness in flavor.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, a worker who has worked at the company for more than 3 years, said that today's meal was delicious and complete, every dish was delicious.

"What is more important is being visited by the Trade Union members at the site, finding them close and warm. I hope such meals are organized regularly, Ms. Hanh expressed.

Mr. Tran Van Phong expressed: "It feels like there is a holiday in the week. Everyone was happy. Not because they are delicious, but because they feel cared for and dialogue. If there are more sessions like that, workers will be happier.

Mr. Phong added that that concern is also a motivation for workers to try harder in their work, improve productivity and product quality.

Trade unions accompany from meals to share difficulties

Ms. Kim Thi Mac Ka Ra - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of the branch of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Vinh Long said that the Vinh Long branch currently has more than 5,000 workers and union members.

Organizing the Union Meal is not only an opportunity to take care of meals but also an opportunity to listen to workers, creating a space for sharing and connection.

In addition to organizing meals like today, the company's Trade Union also cares for the material and spiritual lives of workers such as giving gifts on holidays, Tet, seniority gifts, cultural and sports activities, supporting workers with serious illnesses or those facing sudden difficulties...

"For workers with serious illnesses, the Trade Union mobilizes support of over 200 million VND per portion, contributing to motivating workers to overcome difficulties," Ms. Ka Ra added.

At the program, Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Phuc Linh directly visited and presented 10 gifts (worth VND500,000/gift) to workers in difficult circumstances, and at the same time acknowledged the active coordination between the grassroots union and the enterprise in caring for workers.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh emphasized: The Trade Union organization is not only a place to represent the rights, but also a spiritual support for workers.
