Can Tho - 2 young men in Can Tho and Vinh Long did not fear danger, bravely rescued drowning people in deep rivers.
On September 13, Nga Nam Ward Police (Can Tho City) organized a ceremony to commend and award the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee for Mr. Nguyen Khanh Dang (born in 2000, residing in My Hoa Hamlet, Tan Long Commune, Can Tho City) and Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhut (born in 2002, residing in Tan Dinh Hamlet, Tan Luoc Commune, Vinh Long Province) for their brave act of saving drowning people on Phung Hiep - Ca Mau River (in Hamlet 3, Nga Nam Ward).

At about 5:45 p.m. on September 10, while traveling on the road from Long My ward to Nga Nam ward, to the middle of bridge 61B (Hamlet 3, Nga Nam ward), Mr. Dang and Mr. Nhut discovered a person drowning in the river. Although the riverbed was deep and wide, and there were many large-ship boats passing, both of them did not control the danger, quickly swam out to approach and tried to bring the victim safely to shore.
Immediately afterwards, Nga Nam Ward Police arrived at the scene, coordinated with local people for initial first aid and took the victim, Ms. P.T.B.D, to Nga Nam Regional Medical Center for emergency care. Currently, Ms. D's health has recovered and she has been discharged home.

In order to promptly recognize and honor the brave act, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nga Nam Ward signed a decision to reward and authorize the Ward Police to award Certificates of Merit and bonuses to Mr. Dang and Mr. Nhut for their noble gestures, promptly saving people from drowning.
