The first Commune and Ward Trade Union Congress in Dien Bien

Accordingly, this is the first commune and ward trade union in Dien Bien province to organize a trade union congress after implementing the reorganization of the 2-level local government apparatus.

Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union was established and put into operation from July 1, 2025. Inheriting the results of activities of the Executive Committee of the Labor Federations of Tuan Giao, Tua Chua, Muong Ang districts (old) and the affiliated grassroots trade unions (CDCS).

Currently, Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union has 13 grassroots trade unions, operating at public service units and enterprises in the communes of Tuan Giao, Quai To, Tua Chua and Muong Ang. The total number of union members is 1,003, participating in many diverse fields (commerce, services, production, industry).

In the 2025-2030 term, Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union identified the breakthrough program as focusing on building a team of union officials with intelligence, courage, professionalism, enthusiasm, responsibility, and prestige to meet new requirements.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Tan Minh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor acknowledged and praised the efforts and results that the Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union has achieved in the context of many difficulties.

The Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor suggested that the Trade Union at all levels of Tuan Giao commune should continue to innovate the methods of operation in a flexible and practical direction, focusing on the grassroots, with union members and workers as the center of service.

Mr. Tan Minh Long also emphasized the need to effectively implement the Grassroots Democracy Regulations; promote the development of union members, especially in non-state enterprise units.

The Congress passed Decisions to appoint the new Executive Committee consisting of 9 comrades (1 comrade defeated) and the Inspection Committee consisting of 3 comrades (1 comrade defeated).

Comrade Pham Ngoc But holds the position of Chairman of the Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress also appointed 8 delegates to attend the 13th Congress of the Dien Bien Provincial Trade Union.
