Tran Yen Trade Union streamlines organization, improves quality of activities

Implementing the policy of arranging administrative units and organizing local governments at two levels, in 2025, it will mark an important change in the organization and operation of the Tran Yen Commune Trade Union.

Although the area has not changed geographically, the role of commune trade unions is more clearly defined when it becomes a direct focal point for leading and directing grassroots trade unions in the inter-commune area - where there are many workers and laborers in the non-state sector.

After reorganizing the apparatus, the number of grassroots trade unions under the arrangement decreased by 78 focal points with more than 2,500 union members. Faced with that reality, the Tran Yen Commune Trade Union clearly defined the motto: streamline the organization but not reduce the role of the trade union. On the contrary, we must improve the quality of operations, focusing on enterprises where there are many workers.

From July 1, 2025, when the Tran Yen Commune Trade Union officially comes into operation, the work of developing union members will continue to be promoted. In just the last 5 months of the year, 149 new union members were admitted, bringing the total number of newly developed union members in the year to 219 people.

In parallel with the organization arrangement, the Tran Yen Commune Trade Union has directed the successful organization of congresses of 24 grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions for the 2025-2030 term, ensuring correct principles, progress and promoting democracy.

After the 1st Tran Yen Commune Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030, the Trade Union Executive Committees at all levels quickly assigned specific tasks, each member is in charge of the group of enterprises and the inter-commune area, helping the direction and guidance of the grassroots to be closer to reality and more timely.

Thanks to that, activities to care for and protect the rights of union members and workers continue to be implemented synchronously. In 2025, the Commune Union and grassroots unions presented more than 2,160 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Lunar New Year and Workers' Month; supported the construction of houses for 5 union members from the Trade Union Social Fund.

Activities such as "Tet Sum Vay" and "Union Meal" are organized right at the enterprise, contributing to increasing cohesion and building harmonious and stable labor relations.

The fact that commune unions directly lead grassroots trade unions in inter-commune areas is a suitable direction in the two-level local government model.
