Union members and workers send their thoughts to the 14th Congress

The 14th National Party Congress took place in the context of the country entering a new stage of development, posing a higher requirement for rapid and sustainable growth and taking people as the center.

The process of economic restructuring, growth model innovation, organizational arrangement and digital transformation is opening up many opportunities, but also poses many challenges for ensuring jobs, income and life of workers and laborers.

In that context, union members and workers in Gia Lai expressed many concerns, aspirations and hopes that the 14th Congress will have practical, practical decisions, more strongly focusing on caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

Mr. Doan Ngoc Duc - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of An Khe Duong Factory - hopes that the Congress will pay more deep and comprehensive attention to social security policies, especially social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and housing for workers and employees in difficult circumstances.

Along with ensuring social security, there should be strong policies to increase income, improve wages, ensure a regional minimum living standard and improve the quality of life for employees in the context of increasing living costs, so that employees can work with peace of mind and stay with the company for a long time.

"I hope the Congress will continue to pay attention to consolidating and enhancing the role of the Trade Union organization, so that the Trade Union is truly a solid support, a voice representing workers, contributing to building an increasingly strong Vietnamese working class, meeting the requirements of national development in the new period," Mr. Duc expressed.

Sharing the same concern, Mr. Nguyen Phi Thuong - Maintenance engineer at Fresenius Kabi Vietnam Joint Stock Company - hopes that the Congress will continue to pay more attention to the jobs and long-term lives of employees, especially training policies and skills improvement to adapt to new requirements of work and technology.

Proposals of Gia Lai Trade Union sent to the 14th Congress

From the practical activities of the Trade Union and the work of representing and caring for members and employees in the past time, the Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union respectfully recommends that the 14th National Party Congress pay attention, consider and make decisions on a number of key issues.

First of all, the Trade Union recommends that the Congress continue to improve mechanisms and policies to encourage businesses to create sustainable jobs, increase wages, income and ensure social security for employees, especially in industrial parks, economic zones and concentrated production areas.

Because practice in Gia Lai shows that the process of shifting economic structure and attracting investment, especially in the fields of processing industry, renewable energy, logistics and high-tech agriculture, has created more jobs, but the stability and quality of jobs between regions are still not uniform.

The Trade Union recommends that the Congress pay attention to issuing breakthrough policies and strategies on the development of social housing and workers' accommodation in conjunction with urban planning, industrial parks and economic zones; mobilizing social resources and businesses to participate in investing in institutions to serve the material and spiritual life of workers. Because difficulties in housing, kindergartens, schools, medical facilities and cultural and sports institutions are still a big problem in Gia Lai.

After the merger, Gia Lai has a wide development space and diverse industries, but the quality of human resources, especially technical labor and highly skilled labor, is still limited.

From that practice, the Trade Union recommended that the Congress pay attention to directing the promotion of vocational education innovation; strengthening the linkage between the State, enterprises and trade union organizations in training, retraining and improving skills for employees, considering this a fundamental solution to improve labor productivity, income and competitiveness of the economy.

Gia Lai Trade Union also recommended that the Congress continue to improve policies and laws on harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations, in which the role of the Trade Union organization is promoted. Because practice shows that in some enterprises, especially non-state enterprises, labor relations still have complex potential factors.

Finally, the Provincial Trade Union recommended that the Congress continue to affirm the role and position of the working class and the Trade Union organization in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. There should be policies and solutions to support the Trade Union in innovating its organization, promoting the application of digital transformation, improving the quality of the Trade Union staff, and meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.

The Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union believes that the important decisions of the 14th National Party Congress will create a strong motivation to increasingly better care for the lives of workers and laborers; thereby promoting the core role of the working class in the rapid and sustainable development of the new Gia Lai province in particular and the country in general.
