4 issues raised at the Ca Mau Trade Union Congress

On the morning of December 29, at the 1st Ca Mau Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested a number of additional issues for the Congress to discuss.

Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong highly appreciated the results that the Trade Unions at all levels of Ca Mau province have achieved in the past time. Ms. Thai Thu Xuong also suggested 4 issues for the Congress delegates to focus on discussing.

First, focus on performing well the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, and pay attention to the following issues: salary, bonus, time and working environment on occupational safety and hygiene, health care for union members and workers, especially female workers.

Strengthen coordination to improve the effectiveness of implementing democracy at the grassroots level; inspect and supervise the activities of agencies, organizations, units, and enterprises on issues related to the rights and interests of workers; especially the implementation of policies and laws on labor, trade unions, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, etc.; Proactively participate in resolving urgent issues arising right from the grassroots level.

Develop a variety of activities to care for the interests of union members in a practical and effective manner. Improve the quality of programs and models of caring for the interests of union members that have been and are effective such as union meals, Workers' Month, Tet Sum Vay, shift meals, Union Shelters; build, sign and implement cooperation agreements to become benefits and benefits of the union organization for union members and workers.

Second, continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of propaganda and mobilization in a proactive, timely and effective manner; through digitalization, connection and use of communication documents on cyberspace, digital platforms according to the principle of "fast", "daily" "deep" and "clear" so that workers can easily access and understand correctly, thereby improving the effectiveness of education and persuasion in propaganda about trade union organization and activities.

Regularly do a good job of propaganda and political and ideological education; link moral education and cultural lifestyle with "promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" among union members and workers; actively participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile views against the Party and the Trade Union organization.

Promote and make the most of cultural institutions, in addition to organizing more cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities to attract workers to participate

Third, organize patriotic emulation movements among union members and workers well with appropriate content and methods for each type of grassroots and profession, the most important of which are the emulation movements "good workers, creative workers", "green, clean, beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", "good at public work, good at housework". Focus on building advanced models, promoting initiatives, technical improvements, and emulation works; promote the discovery, selection, honor, and replication of the most advanced models of direct production workers; organize timely commendation and rewards, creating a spread in the system and the whole society; pay attention to summarizing and developing new models, good and effective ways of doing things to replicate.

Fourth, continue to innovate the content and methods of operation of the Trade Union according to the new, compact but strong organizational model, especially the commune and ward trade union model; focus resources and solutions, promote innovation, digital transformation, build digital trade unions, digital union members; pay attention to developing union members in the informal sector, where there are no labor contracts, establish grassroots trade unions associated with improving the quality of trade union activities, building a strong trade union organization.

Focus on training, fostering, and building a team of union officials, especially grassroots union officials with qualifications, enthusiasm, skills, and working methods; proactively adapt to changes in the situation and requirements and tasks of the new period.

In addition to strengthening inspection, supervision, reward - strict discipline. thoroughly grasp and implement the motto: fewer meetings, more actions; fewer slogans, more results; fewer procedures, more satisfaction of union members and workers.
