Grassroots trade unions are proactive and creative in caring for union members and workers

On July 24, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) led a delegation to visit and work with the grassroots trade union of Lac Ty II Company Limited in Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Park, Can Tho City.

The Trade Union of Lac Ty II Sports Shoes Production Company Limited is currently managing over 12,600 union members and workers. The grassroots trade union always focuses on disseminating policies, laws and resolutions of the higher-level trade union to union members, especially integrating propaganda in input training sessions. Every year, the union coordinates to organize many cultural and sports activities, competitions, lucky draws, birthday gifts, and support for raising children under 6 years old.

In addition, the union mobilizes the construction of 5 Shelters of Love and 1 - 3 Shelters of Trade Union every year; mobilizes 2 - 3 billion VND to support workers in difficulty and with serious illnesses; awards about 1,000 Golden Heart scholarships and honors 800 - 1,000 exemplary worker families. The "Connecting - Sharing - loving" women's club also operates effectively in supporting union members in difficulty.

Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation Le Thi Suong Mai praised and highly appreciated the activities of grassroots unions and enterprises in taking material and spiritual care of union members and workers in the past time. Ms. Mai suggested that the Trade Union further promote the achievements it has achieved, overcoming all difficulties in the coming time.

To effectively implement the new model of grassroots trade unions under the Can Tho City Trade Union, the Chairman of the Labor Federation suggested that grassroots trade unions be proactive and autonomous in performing tasks, coordinating with enterprises in caring for union members and workers. Self-organize and create many activities for union members. Improving the capacity of grassroots trade union officials. Maintain regular contact with the City Trade Union in performing tasks and promptly handling problems arising in labor. Building a network of union members requires factors such as excellent and dedicated cadres and union members.

The grassroots trade union needs to grasp the situation of concerns and aspirations on social networks to promptly resolve them for union members and workers. Innovating the methods and activities of the Trade Union with the goal of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

With the recommendations and proposals of the Trade Union and enterprises, the Chairman of the City Labor Federation requested the departments of the Trade Union Working Committee to study, absorb, guide, and provide timely support, accompany the Trade Union to take good care of union members and workers.
