President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor encourages workers to build the expansion of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant

On the morning of June 28, a working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor led by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - inspected, visited and encouraged workers and laborers working at the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant expansion project.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang directly presented gifts and encouraged the team of engineers and workers constructing key items. The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor acknowledged and commended the spirit of urgency and seriousness in working, overcoming harsh weather conditions, ensuring progress and quality of the project.

The expanded Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant is a national key project in the energy sector, which is important for the national power system. Therefore, Trade Unions at all levels need to pay special attention to working conditions, life, and occupational safety and hygiene for personnel at the construction site... - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized.

On this occasion, the working group presented many gifts and cash to workers directly working at the construction site.

Receiving the attention of the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Mr. Ton Huu Thanh - a construction worker in the Cua Huoc area, shared: "The working conditions in the basement are very difficult, but the brothers always try to stick to the construction site. Today, we were very excited and felt encouraged by the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor."

According to Mr. Truong Cong Hung - Safety Supervisor of contractor Lilama 10, workers are focusing on implementing items on schedule.

"We closely coordinate with grassroots trade unions to ensure policies, safety and health conditions for workers. The attention of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor today is a great source of encouragement for the entire construction site to continue to strive to complete the task" - Mr. Hung said.

The Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant expansion project is invested by Vietnam Electricity Group, with a total capacity of 480MW, including 2 generators. The project is expected to be completed in August 2025. When put into operation, the plant is expected to provide about 500 million kWh per year to the national power system.
