The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor offers incense to commemorate comrade Nguyen Duc Canh in Hai Phong
Hai Phong - On the afternoon of June 8, in Hai Phong, a working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor led by Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - offered incense to Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh.
Accompanying the delegation were Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong; Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor including Mr. Phan Van Anh, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung and delegates attending the 7th Conference of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 13th tenure.
In front of the spirit of comrade Nguyen Duc Canh, the delegation offered incense and flowers, expressing their respect, gratitude, and remembering his great contributions.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh (1908 - 1932) was born into a poor poor poor poor family with a rich tradition of patriotism and studiousness in Diem Dien village, General Ho Doi, Thuy Anh district (now Diem Dien town, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province).
Having been enlightened by the revolution very early, sympathizing with the suffering of the workers and realizing the great strength of the working class if united, he directly participated, mobilized, and organized the revolutionary struggle movement of the working class.
On July 28, 1929, comrade Nguyen Duc Canh founded the Bac Ky Red Trade Union (the predecessor of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) today.
The birth of the Red Trade Union is especially meaningful for the Vietnamese workers' movement and trade union activities.
In February 1930 he attended the Conference to establish the Communist Party of Vietnam and was assigned to hold the following responsibilities: Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, Secretary of the Bac Ky Fourth Party Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Trung Ky Fourth Party Committee.
In charge of propaganda work at the Standing Committee of the Trung Ky Party Committee, Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh played an important role, together with the Trung Ky Party Committee, in building a system of Party newspapers from the country to the province and the grassroots.
In April 1931, he was arrested by the French colonialists in Vinh. Despite being tortured in many ways, the comrade refused to confess. On July 31, 1932, he was executed by the French colonialists at the Hai Phong mosque - which was later built into a commemorative house for him.
