Realizing the dream of settling down

The 93 Trade Union Shelters are not simply 93 houses, but truly are 93 shelters. New, spacious houses are not only a place to shelter from the rain and sun, but more importantly, they are also an invaluable source of spiritual encouragement, helping workers realize the dream of "residing down" to firmly "work".

At Workers' Month 2025, the Da Nang City Labor Federation organized the first round of giving away 34 Trade Union Shelters with a total cost of more than 1.22 billion VND. Ms. Hoang Thi Ha - a worker at Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company - emotionally shared: "I am extremely happy to receive this meaningful gift. For many years, my family has had to live in a low-lying, dilapidated rented house. Now, when I am about to have a new, spacious house, I feel much more secure. This is not just a house, but a new future for my family. It is a great motivation for me to try harder in my work, raise my children to adulthood and repay the kindness of the Trade Union organization that has helped my family.

The second phase was organized by the Da Nang City Labor Federation (LDLD) to present 43 Trade Union Shelters on September 15 with a total cost of nearly 1.5 billion VND. Of which, 20 newly built houses and 23 repaired houses have been handed over, contributing to improving living conditions and creating motivation for workers to feel secure in their work.

Still a pillar of care

The practical activities of the Da Nang Trade Union show that caring for union members and workers is one of the top pillars and tasks. This care is shown in many practical and in-depth forms - notably the organization of donations and support for the construction of Trade Union Shelters, helping union members have the opportunity to "set up a business".

Looking back on the past, it can be seen that the "Union Shelter" program of the Da Nang Trade Union has achieved many proud achievements. In the 2018 - 2025 period alone, the Da Nang City Labor Federation and all levels of the Union have built and repaired nearly 600 shelters, with a total value of more than 17 billion VND.

Mr. Le Van Dai - Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: The Trade Union Shelter is one of the key activities, demonstrating the humanity and deep concern of the Trade Union organization for the lives of union members, especially those with difficult housing circumstances. Not only stopping at the "Union Shelter" program, during the annual Workers' Month or holidays and Tet, comprehensive care - both materially and spiritually - is also shown through many other meaningful activities.

According to Mr. Le Van Dai, in the coming time, after merging, streamlining the apparatus, and establishing more ward and commune trade unions, the way the trade union organization operates will have some changes compared to before. However, the pillar of caring for and protecting union members and workers in all aspects, especially the "Union Shelter" program, has not changed, and will continue to be a highlight and bright spot in caring for and working in the activities of the Da Nang City Labor Federation.
