500 glasses surgery sessions worth 16 million VND for Hai Phong union members
Hai Phong - The Hai Phong City Labor Federation has just issued a plan to organize a free glass surgery program for workers and their relatives in the area.
According to the plan, 500 union members, workers and relatives (one of their four mothers) with cataracts and who are destined to have cataracts replaced (priority given to union members' families in difficult circumstances) who use health insurance will undergo free cataract surgery using the Phaco method.
The implementation time is in November and December 2025 at Hanoi Eye Hospital - Hai Phong (Le Hong Phong Street, Gia Vien Ward). Here, workers and their relatives receive in-depth examinations 10 steps before surgery: Vision test, eye pressure measurement, refractive measurement, etc. examination, eye bottom scanning, ultrasound, wide-angle eye bottom scanning, retina culture scanning, dialysis, consultation with ophthalmologist and pre-operative testing.
Doctors at Hanoi Eye Hospital - Hai Phong will conduct Phaco surgery on a new generation Centurion (US) machine, using artificial lens filling from Europe or Japan... After each surgery, workers will also be provided with nutritious lunch, given medicine, given protective glasses, and given free medical examination packages for 6 months. Total value of the surgical package: 16,000,000 VND.
The program aims to better care for union members and workers, contributing to enhancing the position and role of the City Trade Union through specialized eye care activities, thereby helping to detect eye problems early to have timely and effective preventive and treatment measures for union members and workers.
