The highest salary of civil servants when the base salary increases to 2.53 million VND
The highest salary of civil servants when the base salary increases by 2.53 million VND is the concern of Mr. Quoc Tuan (Lam Dong).
The Legal Consulting Office of Lao Dong Newspaper said that recently, the Politburo agreed to adjust the base salary increase from 2.34 million VND to 2.53 million VND/month from July 1, 2026. Currently, the draft decree dossier has been sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs for appraisal by the Ministry of Justice.
The new salary scale from July 1st to 2026 for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces will be calculated according to the base salary of 2.53 million VND/month and the salary coefficient specified in Decree 204/2004/ND-CP.
Currently, according to Point a, Clause 1, Article 3 of Circular 07/2024/TT-BNV, the salary of civil servants is being calculated according to civil servants:
Salary = Coefficient x base salary.
Salary coefficient: Regulated in Decree 204/2004/ND-CP.
Comparing with the salary coefficient according to Decree 204/2004/ND-CP, civil servants type A3 (group A3.1) with salary grade 6, coefficient 8.0 will have a salary level of: 8.0 x 2. 530,000 VND = 20,240,000 VND (excluding allowances).
Thus, the highest salary for civil servants is expected to be 20,240,000 VND and the lowest is for civil servants of grade 1, coefficient 1.35 with a salary of 3,172,500 VND (excluding allowances).
