The newly issued Ministry of Health Circular 56/2025/TT-BYT guiding occupational disease management takes effect from February 15, 2026.

Article 21. Responsibility of the Department of Disease Prevention

1. Direct and organize the implementation of health examination before arranging work, health examination for detecting occupational diseases and statistics, reporting on occupational diseases nationwide; inspect and supervise health examination activities before arranging work, examination for detecting occupational diseases and propose to competent authorities to handle violations according to the provisions of law.

2. Build and update a database on occupational diseases into information on medical examination, treatment, and rehabilitation in the national database on health, including the following contents:

a) Name of medical examination and treatment facility granted a license to operate a medical examination and treatment facility or medical examination and treatment facility supplemented with the scope of professional medical examination and treatment activities;

b) Name of agency, unit, or enterprise where an employee is diagnosed with an occupational disease;

c) Name of diagnosed occupational disease;

d) Number of employees diagnosed with occupational diseases according to the classification of occupational diseases entitled to social insurance.

3. Direct units under the Ministry of Health to develop content and organize training on occupational diseases.

4. Preside over and coordinate with relevant units to guide the implementation of this Circular.
