When does the motor vehicle inspection certificate expire?

Clause 5, Article 13 of Decree 89/2026/ND-CP Regulating conditions for business of motor vehicle inspection services; organization and operation of registration facilities; lifespan of motor vehicles (effective from July 1, 2026), stipulates that the inspection certificate expires when:

a) Vehicles that do not ensure technical safety and environmental protection according to the provisions of law;

b) There is information about the loss or revocation of the inspection certificate on the inspection management software;

c) The inspection certificate has been replaced by another inspection certificate;

d) Vehicles with inspection results not meeting standards;

d) The vehicle has been illegally modified.

Thus, from July 1, 2026, the motor vehicle inspection certificate will expire in cases specified above.
