70 years old is still accepted to participate in protecting security and order at the grassroots level
Reader phongvuxxx@gmail. com asks: Can people who are 70 years old be recruited into the force to participate in protecting security and order at the grassroots level?
Legal Consulting Department of Lao Dong Newspaper answers:
Clause 1, Article 13 of the Law on forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level stipulates that Vietnamese citizens who wish and have the following standards and conditions are considered and selected to participate in this force: From 18 years old to 70 years old; in cases of over 70 years old and ensuring health, the Chairman of the Commune-level People's Committee shall consider and decide based on the proposal of the Commune-level Police.
Thus, people aged 70 can still be admitted to the force participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level if they meet other standards and conditions according to the provisions of law on health, background, education, and place of residence.
