The demand for male workers in Ho Chi Minh City is higher than that of female workers
HCMC - Analysis of labor recruitment in the city in 2025 shows that the demand for men is higher than that for women.
On January 8, Ms. Nguyen Van Hanh Thuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center - said that the analysis of recruitment demand in 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City showed that out of the total recruitment demand for 313,681 job positions, there are 170,756 demand for male workers (54.44%) and 142,925 female workers (45.56%).
This need reflects the true characteristics of Binh Duong province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (formerly) with many occupations that required endurance, shiftwork and equipment operation skills, more suitable for male workers, such as line operation, mechanical - technical, logistics - warehousing - transportation, seaport exploitation and some construction occupations.
In Ho Chi Minh City (previously), although there was a larger proportion of female labor recruitment in the fields of services, trade, customer care, education, and office, the increase in the engineering - logistics - technology sector still caused the general demand of the entire (new) Ho Chi Minh City to favor men.
