Union activities need to be improved and more effective in 2026

On the afternoon of January 9, the Conference to summarize the emulation movement in 2025 and sign the emulation colution in 2026 of the emulation cluster of the Central City Labor Federations (LDLD) took place in Con Dao special area, Ho Chi Minh City.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang attended and chaired the conference.

In 2025, in general, the Trade Union activities of the Cluster of centrally-run cities will be implemented synchronously, with focus and key points. Caring work has also been effectively implemented with more than 4.1 million union members and workers visited and supported with a total budget of over VND 2,700 billion; the "Union Shelter" program during the year has built and repaired over 400 houses for union members in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of over VND 25 billion... Thereby continuing to affirm the role and position of the Trade Union organization in representing, caring for and protecting the rights of workers.

In 2026, the Emulation Cluster of the City Labor Federations will focus on implementing 4 key activities such as: focusing on activities to care for difficult circumstances; organizing the practice of thoroughly implementing the Resolutions of the Central and local governments; organizing activities to celebrate major holidays, peak months for developing union members...; continuing to perfect the model of organizing the union apparatus of wards and communes in special zones to operate effectively and efficiently... At the same time, setting 8 main targets to strive to complete, along with developing tasks and solutions to achieve the set goals.

President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts and sense of responsibility of the City Labor Federations; the attention, leadership, direction, coordination and facilitation of local Party committees and authorities.

According to President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, 2026 is of special significance, posing increasingly high requirements for trade union organizations, especially in key areas of localities in the cluster. Therefore, the requirements for growth quality, sustainable development, and digital transformation are increasingly urgent; the streamlined trade union organization model requires management capacity, operation and operational efficiency to be raised to a new level.

The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also suggested and suggested that the Labor Federations of cities study and focus on implementing a number of contents including: Affirming and demonstrating more deeply the role of the Trade Union organization; effectively and practically organizing patriotic emulation movements in 2026; promoting digital transformation in organization and operation; focusing on building a strong trade union organization from the grassroots...; building a team of trade union officials to meet new requirements.

On this occasion, the Emulation Cluster of 6 centrally-run city Labor Federations including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hue, Da Nang, Can Tho also signed an emulation covenant with 10 contents.
