1,132 initiatives of coal industry workers profit nearly 50 billion VND

Launching effective emulation

On August 9, Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV) - informed that right from the beginning of 2026, the industry union has launched emulation movements in 2026 to celebrate the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the 90th anniversary of the Traditional Day of miners, the tradition of the coal industry; the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the TKV Trade Union...

Trade unions at all levels have registered to take on 394 emulation projects and products. The projects and products focus on improving working conditions for workers; projects to care for workers' lives; projects and products applying new technologies, mechanization, automation, and informatization projects... Responding to emulation movements launched by TKV Trade Union, grassroots trade unions have completed 368 projects with a bonus amount of more than 2.055 billion VND.

The promotion of initiatives and application of new science and technology in production is concerned and implemented by officials and employees at units. As a result, 1,132 topics and initiatives have been recognized with a profit value of more than 49.7 billion VND" - Mr. Le Thanh Xuan said.

One of the examples of creative labor spirit is Mr. Le Anh Tuan - mechanic and electrician of Hon Net 2 crane belonging to the Transport and Loading and Unloading workshop, Cam Pha Port and Warehousing Company - Vinacomin.

At the unit, Mr. Tuan is likened to a "doctor" of floating cranes. Every time the equipment encounters problems, he quickly finds the cause, proposes solutions and regularly has technical improvement initiatives.

Over the past time, he and his colleagues have researched and contributed to the initiative "Putting cable heads onto the main cable for opening and closing Hon Net floating pontoon cranes". Replacing the main cable for opening and closing with Korean cable F28 combined with pouring "ngáo" heads (soc két) with Wirelock glue. Taking advantage of Liebherr's "ngáo" heads after the cable is damaged.

This initiative has been applied to belly cables and two Ponton main cables, operating stably and safely. After applying according to the calculation of output equivalent to imported cables of Liebherr, it completely replaces imported cables, and proactively replaces the source of cables. This initiative has saved new purchase costs.

With his own efforts, Mr. Le Anh Tuan was selected as one of the 10 examples "Miner - Soldier" of Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company - Vinacomin, in the second quarter of 2026...

Strive for at least 4,500 initiatives of workers to be applied

According to Mr. Le Thanh Xuan, in response to the emulation movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" for the period 2026 - 2031 launched by the VGCL, the TKV Trade Union set specific goals such as having at least 75% of workers trained, trained, and fostered to improve their professional qualifications, professional skills, and digital skills; having at least 75% of workers at units directly under the Group disseminated information technology, digital technology, and the use of smart devices for work.

Every year, at least 4,500 initiatives of workers are proposed and applied in practice. There are 50-100 initiatives awarded the Creative Labor Medal by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The profit value from the initiative in 2026 reached over 240 billion VND, an increase of 10-15% each subsequent year.

TKV trade union levels coordinate with professional departments to emulation and implement solutions to improve the material, spiritual, income and welfare regimes for workers. In which, 95% of units in TKV Group have collective labor agreements with clauses that are more beneficial to workers.

Every year, at least 95% of union members and workers enjoy welfare programs organized by trade unions and businesses. Strive that every year 30-40% of union members and workers with initiatives that have been effectively applied in practice are rewarded according to the value of the initiative.
