Protecting workers, helping businesses stabilize for development
Each labor dispute resolved not only brings benefits to affected workers but also contributes to restoring trust, stabilizing labor relations and helping businesses have the opportunity to continue to develop.
Placing faith in the Trade Union organization
Holding the salary, insurance and allowance after many months of waiting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a worker at Hoa Khanh Textile Company (Da Nang), was moved because she once thought she could not get it back. When the business stopped operating, owing salaries and insurance, dozens of worker families fell into difficulty, having to borrow money, work seasonally or sell assets to cover their lives.
In difficult times, Ms. Hong and her colleagues were gathered opinions by the Trade Union, guided on procedures, and worked with functional agencies; Lao Dong Newspaper continuously reflected the case. After many efforts, 58 workers received more than 3.2 billion VND in salary, social insurance and allowances, showing that if the voice of workers is heard, their legitimate rights will be protected.
At Nghe An Trade Union Tourism and Trading Co., Ltd., when the company ceased operations, close legal support from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation helped all 30 workers fully enjoy severance benefits, early retirement and social insurance preservation in accordance with regulations.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation - said that in the process of Nghe An Trade Union Tourism and Trade One Member Limited Company encountering difficulties, the leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation directed professional departments to closely monitor the situation, regularly advise and provide legal support to the company and employees.
Up to now, all employees of the company have had their benefits resolved, this is a joy, and also a motivation for the Trade Union organization to continue to do better in its role of representing and protecting the rights of union members and employees" - Ms. Huong shared.
In just the past year, not only the Hoa Khanh Textile case in Da Nang, the Trade Union organization and Lao Dong Newspaper have also closely followed many cases of workers being owed wages, insurance debts or facing difficulties in labor relations.
Before the 2026 Lunar New Year, hundreds of workers of Phuc Hung Mechanical and Electrical Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) were worried about being owed wages for many months. After Lao Dong Newspaper reflected, functional agencies and the Trade Union worked with the enterprise, helping workers to be paid a part of their salaries before Tet, reducing difficulties at the end of the year.
Actively protect from afar
According to Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation, dialogue and collective bargaining are fundamental solutions to limit disputes and build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations. This viewpoint has also been applied by many localities recently when the Trade Union proactively went to businesses, listened to workers and resolved problems right from the grassroots level.
Protecting workers is not in contrast to protecting businesses. When wages, insurance and benefits are guaranteed, workers become more trusted and attached. Early conflict resolution also helps limit disputes, strikes and reduce losses in production, reputation, and human resources.
Conversely, when businesses are willing to dialogue with the Trade Union, listen to employees and adjust welfare policies through collective labor agreements, businesses themselves are also the beneficiaries. A stable working environment helps retain workers, improve productivity and build a sustainable corporate culture.
