146 workers sue Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile company for insurance benefits
The People's Court of Region 2 - Dong Nai received and resolved 146 dossiers of employees affected by insurance benefits suing Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Company.
On July 23, the authorized representative of employees of Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd. said that they had submitted 146 sets of lawsuit dossiers to the People's Court (TAND) of Region 2 - Dong Nai to claim insurance benefits. The People's Court of Region 2 - Dong Nai received and resolved the case.
According to the lawsuit, Mr. L.H. B (36 years old, from Ca Mau province) said that from March 2013, he was recruited to work at Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd. (Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park, Nhon Trach Ward, Dong Nai City).
During his time working for the company, every month the company deducted his salary to participate in insurance types according to regulations including: Social insurance 8%, health insurance 1.5% and unemployment insurance 1%.
On October 10, 2024, based on Mr. B's resignation letter, the company made a decision to terminate the contract.
After quitting his job, Mr. B contacted the company to request to close the social insurance checkpoint, but the company did not resolve it. Therefore, Mr. B filed a lawsuit requesting the Court to resolve and force Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd. to pay social insurance for him for the remaining time.
Mr. B's case is one of hundreds of cases of workers of Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd. whose rights are affected.
According to Nhon Trach Social Insurance (Dong Nai City Social Insurance), Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd. produces building materials from clay, produces floor tiles, and wall tiles. As of the end of June 2026, the total amount of Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd.'s late payment of social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational accident insurance and interest is nearly 4.9 billion VND, of which late payment interest is more than 1 billion VND.
As a result, the unit has paid compulsory social insurance until the end of October 2023; paid unemployment insurance, occupational accident insurance and health insurance until the end of November 2025.
The total number of workers who have not been fully certified for their participation from November 2023 to June 2026 is 339 people.
According to Nhon Trach Social Insurance, the late payment of social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and occupational accident insurance has seriously affected the legitimate rights of workers working at Bach Thanh Ceramic Tile Co., Ltd.
