Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee meets and honors outstanding overseas Vietnamese in 2025

On the morning of February 8, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized a meeting to honor typical collectives and individuals of overseas Vietnamese in 2025.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (MTTQ), central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs co-chaired the meeting.

Attending were 100 typical overseas Vietnamese, representing 6.5 million overseas Vietnamese worldwide.

According to the Central Committee of the VFF, in 2025, in the context of implementing the arrangement of the organizational structure of the political system, the Front at all levels has made efforts to innovate, towards practical activities to implement key tasks, including the work of Vietnamese people abroad.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front has promoted its role as a bridge connecting the Vietnamese community abroad with the Fatherland. We identify the Front as a "Common Home" so that every expatriate always feels warm when looking towards the Fatherland.

The Front has implemented many forms to listen to the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of the people and reflect them to the Party and State such as: organizing the reception, meeting, and honoring outstanding overseas Vietnamese delegates on the occasion of attending the "Spring Homeland 2025" program; organizing the reception of associations and delegations of overseas Vietnamese visiting and working. During working trips abroad, the Standing Committee spent time meeting and directly contacting the Vietnamese community in the host country. In parallel, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has implemented digital transformation, narrowing the gap between overseas Vietnamese and the Front, ensuring that the voices of the people are received and responded to promptly through online application platforms.

At the same time, the Front also proactively brings information about the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State and the Front's mobilization movements closer to the Vietnamese community abroad; encourages people to unite, support each other, live up to the laws of the host country and together preserve national cultural identity; resolutely fight against distorted arguments that cause division in the great national unity bloc.

Overseas Vietnamese have enthusiastically participated in emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Fatherland Front. In which, responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, overseas Vietnamese have turned to their homeland, joining hands to contribute and support over 45 billion VND and 15 tons of essential goods to support people to overcome the consequences of storms No. 10 and 11. In the campaigns, the Fatherland Front has publicly and transparently disclosed resources to receive and promptly allocate to localities affected by natural disasters. The valuable material and spiritual contributions of overseas Vietnamese are proof of the spirit of national unity...

In 2025, the Front has had activities to connect overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs to promote investment and economic cooperation towards the country, and at the same time mobilize and gather a team of high-level Vietnamese experts and intellectuals abroad to participate in advisory councils.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front also closely coordinates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representative agencies abroad and domestic agencies to organize many meaningful activities and events for overseas Vietnamese, creating a spreading effect, arousing national pride, patriotism and great national unity, contributing to honoring and connecting the overseas Vietnamese community with the Fatherland...

The Front has proactively participated in building, supervising and criticizing policies and laws related to overseas Vietnamese. In which, the Front has made recommendations and proposals to competent authorities to amend and supplement legal documents on civil status and nationality to create more favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese; proposed favorable mechanisms to attract resources from overseas Vietnamese experts and intellectuals to contribute to the development of the country...
