Tuyen Quang reduces more than 9,500 poor households in 2025

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang province, by the end of 2025, the whole province had 93,551 multidimensional poor households, accounting for 22.9% of the total number of households in the province, down 9,525 households, equivalent to a decrease of 2.43% compared to 2024.

Of the total number of multidimensional poor households, the number of poor households is 62,609, accounting for 15.33%, down 9,056 households, the number of near-poor households is 30,942, accounting for 7.58%, down 469 households compared to 2024.

It is known that after 5 years of implementing the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Tuyen Quang province, more than 1,100 billion VND has been mobilized to support livelihoods and social security. Thanks to that, tens of thousands of poor households have escaped poverty and have a stable life.

However, the multidimensional poverty rate in the whole province is still high, mainly concentrated in ethnic minority areas, remote areas, requiring all levels and sectors to continue to synchronously deploy sustainable poverty reduction solutions in the coming time.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Vuong Ngoc Ha - Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee - said that the province has carefully researched and determined to set a target of reducing the poverty rate by 3-4% per year. Therefore, sustainable poverty reduction is identified as one of the province's breakthroughs in the coming term.

"To do that, in addition to the support of the State through the National Target Programs, Tuyen Quang province determined to promote internal strength, arousing the spirit of self-reliance in each cadre and people. The action program not only focuses on supporting social security but also focuses on supporting sustainable livelihood development.

On the potential and advantages of the province such as tourism and forestry, we have proposed many specific solutions to create jobs and increase income for people with valuable products and services, especially in ethnic minority areas," said the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province.

In the period of 2026 - 2030, Tuyen Quang province also proposed that the Central Government continue to implement a number of key component projects such as supporting funding for projects related to the development of socio-economic infrastructure in poor communes, diversifying livelihoods and developing poverty reduction models.
