Male student Nguyen Cong Tuan contributes right from the grassroots level, patiently guiding each small operation to help narrow the digital gap in the community.

Right from his high school years, Nguyen Cong Tuan (born in 2006, Dong Ngac ward, Hanoi) early formed a desire to pursue the field of information technology. Tuan said that he has long had a passion for technology, security and network security.

According to Cong Tuan, in the context of strong digital transformation, information technology is not only a technical tool but also becomes a platform to support solving many problems in life. Currently a 2nd year student at Hanoi High-Tech College, Tuan realizes that studying in a new environment has helped him change his approach, from absorbing knowledge to proactively learning, practicing and linking with practical needs.

The male technology student participated in the campaign "45 days and nights of campaigning to support digital transformation activities in communes and wards in the early stages of operating the two-level government" as a student volunteer. That decision did not originate from the movement, but from a specific reason.

Cong Tuan shared: "While we young people see technology as familiarity, for many people, especially elderly people or people who are less exposed to smart devices, digital transformation is a barrier.

Besides, Tuan also wants to become a leader, who can contribute to helping those who are not yet proficient in technology feel that smartphones are not scary at all. "Through these supports, I hope I can somewhat narrow the digital gap, helping older people to use digital technology utilities proficiently," Tuan said.

In the campaign's classes, Tuan guided people to install and use the VNeID electronic identification application, supported online application submission on the Public Service Portal, and helped with online payments for the elderly... In fact, the biggest challenge does not lie in the machines but in the psychology of learners. "The elderly are often hesitant, afraid that pressing the wrong button will damage the machine, afraid of personal information leakage or being scammed," Tuan said.

To gain the trust of the people in the class, Tuan learns to be patient: "I always listen to the uncles tell stories first, create closeness like children and grandchildren in the family before building trust before starting to operate on their phones." In addition, when guiding, Tuan also uses everyday language such as replacing "QR code scanning" with "code photo taking" to help learners understand better.

Recalling a memorable memory during the support process, Cong Tuan recounted the time an elderly person brought an old phone to ask for the VNeID password to be retrieved. After being supported to restore the account and complete the online profile, he was happy and continuously sent thanks. "At that time, I understood that sometimes for me, it was just a few small steps, but for the elderly, it was already removing a difficult problem that was not easy to do myself," Tuan recalled.

These experiences help Tuan realize that digital transformation is not just a story of infrastructure or applications, but a story of belief. Cong Tuan believes that young people are the shock force in supporting digital transformation, especially requiring patience, communication skills and empathy alongside professional knowledge.

Not stopping at supporting digital transformation in communes and wards, Cong Tuan also actively participates in local activities such as offering incense to commemorate heroic martyrs on July 27th, supporting the cleaning of neighborhoods, and supporting exam seasons for candidates... In his studies, Tuan also participates in innovative startup competitions organized by the School Youth Union.

According to Mr. Luu Hai Nam - lecturer at Hanoi High-Tech College, Cong Tuan is a diligent student, actively participating in the activities of the Youth Union and community activities.

When participating in supporting digital transformation in Tay Ho ward, Cong Tuan was highly appreciated by ward officials for his sense of responsibility. After school hours, he still stayed to support, even after the campaign ended, he continued to return to help the brothers and sisters in the ward," teacher Nam shared.

From persistent efforts in studying to enthusiasm for community activities, Nguyen Cong Tuan believes that studying is not only for personal development but also for serving society. These experiences not only help Tuan mature but also spread the spirit of youthful dedication, contributing to creating positive values for society.
