Da Nang - On the days leading up to Tet 2026, volunteer forces join hands to paint and repair houses for poor households and policy families, bringing more joy to Spring.

In the weekend days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2026, in many residential areas in Da Nang City, the images of cadres, soldiers, volunteers of the Red Cross Society and youth union members tirelessly repairing houses for the poor and policy families have left many emotions.

The activity is part of the "Humanitarian New Year" movement in 2026 implemented by the Da Nang Red Cross Society, with the goal of supporting the painting of 30 new houses for disadvantaged households in the three wards of Hai Van, Hoa Khanh and Thanh Khe. In each locality, the program received close coordination from the Fatherland Front, mass organizations and socio-political organizations, creating a wide spread in the community.

Old, peeling walls over time have gradually been put on a "new coat". From early morning, the forces were present, each person had a job from cleaning, rearranging furniture to sweeping lime, painting walls, and rebuilding the degraded areas. The bustling, warm working atmosphere spreads in each small house.

The family of Mr. Le Van Nam, residing in Group 27, Hoa Khanh Ward, is one of the households receiving support. Compared to a poor household, Mr. Nam currently lives with his daughter, and all expenses in the family depend on her unstable income. Tet is approaching, the worry is still present when the old house cannot be repaired.

"Hearing the news that volunteers were coming to paint the house, I was very happy, I woke up early to wait. Seeing my house in disrepair makes me sad, now that the government and all levels have paid attention to it, my family is very happy. The new painted house also makes me more excited, Mr. Nam said emotionally.

Many poor households and other policy families also received simple joy from the cooperation of the forces. With the hands of volunteers, the houses have become more spacious and cleaner, helping people reduce worries when Tet comes and Spring comes.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Lam, Vice President of the Da Nang Red Cross Society, the program is expected to repaint 30 new houses for poor households and policy families in Da Nang City. The activity not only provides material support but also spreads the spirit of mutual love, contributing to many families celebrating Tet in spacious, warm and affectionate houses.

The new walls and renovated kitchens may not have completely erased the difficulties, but they are enough to bring a warmer Tet to the people, Mr. Lam emphasized.

In the days before Tet, newly painted houses not only change the color of lime, but also light up the faith, warmth and humanity in the residential areas of Da Nang City.
