Walking and donating more than 1.5 billion VND to the poor to celebrate Tet

On January 25, the Party Committee - People's Committee - People's Council - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Dong Hiep Ward (HCMC) organized a Walking Festival for Community Health and joined hands to donate gifts for the Lunar New Year 2026 to the poor in the area.

The festival attracted more than 1,000 cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, union members, association members, representatives of enterprises, donors and people in the ward to participate.

The leader of Tan Dong Hiep Ward People's Committee said that the program is a meaningful activity, harmoniously combining health training, improving people's spiritual life with social security work, caring for vulnerable groups in the community.

Through the program, the organizing committee mobilized more than 1.5 billion VND. All of this fund will be used to take care of Tet for poor households, near-poor households, policy families, lonely elderly people and those in difficult circumstances in the ward.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy - Chairman of Tan Dong Hiep Ward People's Committee said that every contribution, whether big or small, shows responsibility, affection and noble gestures, contributing to bringing a warmer, more fulfilling Tet to those in difficult circumstances.

With the responsibility of local authorities, Tan Dong Hiep Ward People's Committee is committed to organizing the program for the right purpose, safely, economically and effectively. At the same time, the management and use of mobilized funding sources are public, transparent, and in accordance with regulations. Giving gifts to the right subjects, in time before Tet" - Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy said.

It is known that according to the plan, Tan Dong Hiep ward is preparing 2,000 Tet gifts (each gift worth 1 million VND and 400,000 VND in cash) to give to poor households and disadvantaged households in the area.
