1,110 works participated in the national journalism award for anti-corruption, waste and negativity

Mr. Vu Van Tien, member of the Presidium, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front chaired the meeting.

The 5th National Journalism Award on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, 2024 - 2025, organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association and Vietnam Television.

After nearly 2 years of launching, up to now, the Organizing Committee of the 5th National Defense, Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Journalism Award, 2024 - 2025, has received 1,110 valid works (more than the 4th award, 42 works, the 4th season has 1,078 entries): of which, newspapers printed 376 works, electronic newspapers 622 works, television 63 works, broadcast 49 works from over 90 press agencies at the central and local levels.

Recalling the success of the 4 times organizing the National Defense Press Awards, fight against corruption, waste and negativity, Mr. Vu Van Tien respectfully suggested that the members of the Council promote the experience and high sense of responsibility of journalists who have been associated with the Front's press awards for many years and participated in judging at national press awards, focus on evaluating and selecting quality works for final judging, ensuring objectivity, promoting quality and appropriate structure of works.

According to Mr. Vu Van Tien, the preliminary judging of works for the final round must closely follow the criteria and conditions in the Award Regulations and the regulations in the Award Regulations of the Jury.

Focus on selecting journalism works with elaborate, creative and innovative expressions. The content is current, contains in-depth references and reflections, and has the influence of spreading the Party's guidelines, new policies and laws of the State on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity. The in-depth articles have high theoretical and practical values on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

In addition, it is necessary to select works reflecting the fight against and refuting distorted arguments on the fight against corruption, waste and negativity; the fight against corruption, waste and negativity both in the State sector and in the non-state sector; implementing regulations on controlling power; condemning the fear of responsibility; praising and encouraging examples of the fight against corruption and waste; protecting those who detect, denounce, and fight against corruption and negativity; works of journalism recommending, proposing, and solutions to improve the effectiveness of the fight against corruption, waste and negativity. The works reflect the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in participating in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

Affirming that the preliminary judging work is of great importance, as a basis for the Final Round Council to consider and select the winning works, Mr. Vu Van Tien suggested that after the meeting, the Preliminary judging subcommittees will immediately start judging and send the results to the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front before August 29, 2025 to compile and make an official list of works selected for the final judging to ensure progress and quality.
