Honoring outstanding workers and rewarding outstanding union officials

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Pham Duc Long, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union and a large number of union officials and workers in the Vietnam science and technology industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union Pham Duc Long said that in recent years, the team of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the Science and Technology industry have continuously strived, overcome all difficulties and challenges, compete in labor production, work, improve professional qualifications, and excellently complete assigned tasks; thereby contributing to creating brilliant marks on the "Journey of Aspiration" of the industry and the country in the new era...

In particular, in recent years, generations of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the Science and Technology sector have made important contributions to scientific research, technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation. These are key and breakthrough drivers for Vietnam to develop rapidly and sustainably, catching up with the era of artificial intelligence, big data, digital economy, green economy, to reach out to the world, while arousing the aspiration to develop a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

According to Mr. Pham Duc Long, the ceremony to honor outstanding workers and commend outstanding union officials is an annual event organized by the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union from 2016 to present, to honor contributions and reward workers with outstanding achievements in work, production and labor and commend outstanding union officials who have made many contributions to the workers' movement and union activities, always caring about and protecting rights, coordinating the implementation of policies and jobs for union members and workers.

This is an opportunity for us to look back on the past journey, honoring the most beautiful flowers, the brightest examples that have been and are contributing to beautifying the Journey of Aspiration of the Science and Technology industry. Thereby promoting the role of union members, workers and trade union cadres, contributing to building a strong Vietnam Trade Union; affirming the role and responsibility of trade unions towards union members and workers in the Science and Technology sector, said Mr. Pham Duc Long.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union honored 219 workers who are outstanding examples in work, production labor and were voted among more than 86,000 union members and workers in all fields of activities and work.

At the same time, 71 outstanding union officials were commended - examples demonstrating the sense of responsibility, bravery, and intelligence of generations of Vietnamese union officials, who have been creative and contributed to union activities, have many effective solutions and methods, especially in caring for the lives and policies of union members and workers.
