Grassroots trade union in Vinh Long organizes occupational safety and health workshop in the digital age

On May 21, the grassroots Trade Union of Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. organized a thematic workshop "Improving the effectiveness of OSH work in the digital age - The role and responsibility of the Trade Union".

The workshop attracted a large number of union members and workers to participate, focusing on exchanging solutions to improve the effectiveness of occupational safety and health in the context of strong digital transformation at enterprises.

In the digital age, OSH work sets many new requirements for trade union organizations and businesses in management, supervision, labor risk prevention and care for workers' health.

The application of technology to OSH work is assessed to contribute to improving management efficiency, limiting the risk of unsafety, towards building a safer, more modern and sustainable working environment.

At the workshop, many presentations focused on topics such as the role of grassroots trade unions in promoting digital transformation of OSH work, and promoting the network of occupational safety and health workers at enterprises.

The presentations also emphasized the responsibility of workers in proactively complying with OSH regulations, raising self-protection awareness, contributing to building a safety culture in enterprises.

Many questions related to the process of handling when detecting risks of labor unsafety, solutions for applying technology in ATVSV activities and the support role of the Trade Union were answered at the workshop.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Le Thi Kim Chi - Standing Vice President of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that the digital age opens up many opportunities but also poses many challenges for workers and trade union organizations.

According to Ms. Chi, modern technology helps improve labor productivity but also hides many new risks of labor insecurity, psychological pressure, work intensity and increasingly high occupational adaptability requirements.

Ms. Chi emphasized that where workers work in a safe environment and are fully cared for, workers are assured and attached, and businesses stabilize production and develop sustainably in the long term.

Conversely, if occupational safety and health work is underestimated, the consequences will not only affect the health and lives of workers but also directly affect production efficiency and business reputation in the market.

Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation proposed that the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union continue to promote the role of a bridge between businesses and workers, strengthen dialogue and supervision of the implementation of regulations on OSH.

Also at the workshop, the grassroots Trade Union of Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. presented 38 gifts to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances.
