Union members like to buy household appliances on the Trade Union Tet Market

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, teacher Ha Thi Hien - a teacher at Hong Thu Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Hong Thu Commune, Lai Chau Province) is the only teacher at the school to receive a special gift from the Vietnam Education Trade Union: a piece of ao dai and 1 million VND.

Ms. Hien was born in 1990, from Son La province, and has been studying at the Hong Thu Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities for 14 years.

loving her job and being attached to the school, Ms. Hien always feels the warmth from the union. She said that every Tet holiday, teachers in the school often receive gifts from the district union; some teachers in difficulty will receive "bigger" gifts from the industry union or the provincial Labor Federation.

Ms. Hien said that she once participated in the Trade Union Tet Market online and was very impressed with the richness of competitive products and prices at the market.

On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024, Ms. Hien was given a voucher worth 300,000 VND. Participating in the Tet market, she bought her family a non-stick pan for 300,000 VND. After that, Ms. Hien bought an additional heater for just over 100,000 VND.

"I didn't expect the pan to be used well by my family until now, especially the heated fan costing more than 100,000 VND is used so durably. I use it at home and then take it to school for students to use. This winter, the fan is still attached, promoting the effect of helping teachers and students to be less cold in the cold winter," said Ms. Hien.

Ms. Hien said that items at the Trade Union Tet market are often deeply discounted, some items are discounted up to 70%. In particular, after ordering, union members can only wait a few days, and the goods will be sent to their homes at the registered address. "My teachers also like to buy household appliances at the Trade Union Tet market, cheap, beautiful designs, famous domestic brands, so everyone is assured," said Ms. Hien.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, Ms. Hien said that she and her colleagues will still participate in the Trade Union Tet Market and pay special attention to household items and kitchen appliances.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Son is currently an IT systems employee at the IT Operations Center (VNPT Information Technology Company).

Mr. Son and his wife have a son born in 2023, who is behind in motor mentally/chromatic abnormality and is deaf-mute from birth and is being treated for hearing loss. Since giving birth, Mr. Son's wife has not gone to work and stayed home to take care of her children. Mr. Son and his wife are currently renting a house in Ha Dong ward (Hanoi).

"My salary is about 10 million VND/month, provided that my wife is not working, my child is sick, I rent a house in the city... so life is very difficult," said Mr. Son.

Life is difficult but Mr. Son is not discouraged because in addition to the companionship of family and friends, he also receives sharing from the company's union and the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union.

"I am always cared for by the industry union on the occasion of Workers' Month and Tet holidays. In addition to spiritual support, I also received material support, not much but very meaningful for my family," Mr. Son said emotionally.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Mr. Son participated in the online Trade Union Tet Market for the first time thanks to receiving shopping vouchers. He bought his wife a stove from a petitioner for 300,000 VND. "Up to now, the kitchen is still used well, helping my wife to be convenient and safe when cooking and taking care of her sick child," Mr. Son shared.

Coming to the Trade Union Tet Market in 2026, Mr. Son is very interested in household items. "Specialty products, food, drinks and candy are also sold a lot during the market, but my family often goes back to our hometown to celebrate Tet with our parents so we don't buy food. This year, I hope the market will continue to have many household items, with deep discounts. I will buy a hotpot for my mother so that the whole family can eat hotpot during Tet," said Mr. Son.
