Ca Mau workers are happy with the news of increasing the regional minimum wage from January 1, 2026

Before the information, the Ministry of Home Affairs drafted a Decree regulating the adjustment of the minimum wage to increase by 7.2% compared to the current level to be applied from January 1, 2026.

Accordingly, there are 4 minimum wage zones including: zone 1 is 5.31 million VND/month, zone 2 is 4.73 million VND/month, zone 3 is 4.14 million VND/month and zone 4 is 3.7 million VND/month. Thus, the minimum wage will increase by 250,000 - 350,000 VND (average 7.2%) compared to the current.

The Ministry of Home Affairs also proposed minimum hourly wages including region 1 at 25,500 VND/hour, region 2 at 22,700 VND/hour, region 3 at 20,000 VND/hour and region 4 at 17,800 VND/hour.

Recorded in Ca Mau, workers received this information with the mentality that everyone was happy to receive a salary increase.

Pinetree One Member Co., Ltd., Vinh Loi commune, Ca Mau province has nearly 1,700 workers in the garment sector, most of whom are happy. Ms. Nguyen Anh Thu said that she has worked here for more than 9 years, and the salary and bonus regime here is well implemented. If the minimum wage is increased, income will be a little better.

Mr. Tra Minh Dung said that working at a garment company for more than 7 million VND/month is still more profitable than living away from home because they do not have to rent a house or live far from home. If the salary increases, it will be even happier.

Meanwhile, at Minh Phu Seafood Group Joint Stock Company, where there are the largest number of workers in Ca Mau with more than 6,000 workers, most workers are happy with the news that their salaries will be increased in early 2026.

Worker Nguyen Thi Hau said: "Having a job in my hometown with a stable income is very happy, now I like hearing that my salary will increase".

On the part of enterprises, most of them are waiting for a specific decision on increasing the basic salary to apply.

The human resource director of an seafood processing enterprise in Ca Mau said that the salary increase roadmap has been decided by the Government. When there is an official decision, the enterprise will apply it according to regulations.

According to the Ca Mau Provincial Business Association, the Government decided to increase the basic salary from the beginning of 2026, but it is necessary to announce it right now. Because, in order for businesses to have time to prepare and plan salary payment for business activities for the following year; have conditions for timely payment to workers when the decision officially takes effect.
