Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Chairman of Tan Tao Ward Trade Union - shared the practical difficulties that the Trade Union at the ward and commune levels is facing, especially after merging the areas.

Mr. Tuan said that after the merger, union officials in the new ward must start from the beginning of connecting with grassroots unions. This is very difficult because they need to get acquainted and re-establish the relationship.

To solve the above difficulties, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan suggested that there should be more detailed and clear instructions from the superiors so that the Ward Union has a basis to implement the activities.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Duc Son - Chairman of the Trade Union of Chau Duc Urban Development and Construction Joint Stock Company - said that the Trade Union of wards and communes has a great advantage in being close to newly established enterprises. However, these units mainly have to mobilize themselves, and operating costs are limited. This creates a great burden for union officials and affects operational efficiency.

Mr. Son also recommended that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation should soon have a solution for working headquarters for the Ward and Commune-level Trade Unions, because currently the workplace is still cramped or must be borrowed from another place for temporary use.
