Railway staff promptly returns gold and money to passengers who left it behind
The railway team promptly supported passengers to find gold and more than 16 million VND left behind on trains SE5, SE3 in early 2026.
On the morning of January 2, 2026, information from Vietnam Railways Corporation said that on train SE5 departing from Hanoi station on January 1, 2026, the train team promptly supported a passenger to find the forgotten property, gold.
Accordingly, when train SE5 stopped at Dong Hoi station at 19:27 on the same day, during the station's work, the staff of carriage number 9 received information that a passenger had forgotten a gold package wrapped in a travel document and accidentally put it in a trash bag that had just been taken to the station.
Immediately after receiving the information, the receptionist reported to the Ship Leader to organize the search. The train team coordinated to check all the trash bags that had just been brought to Dong Hoi station but had not yet discovered the assets as described by passengers. Because the train was leaving, the train continued its journey into Ho Chi Minh City.

While checking the train car, the receptionist Le Thi Minh Quyen discovered a trash bag containing a gold package of a passenger that had been left behind with household waste. Under the witness of the passengers, the ship team conducted an inspection and determined that inside the Establishment there were a pair of yellow metal earrings and a gold metal necklace.
The passengers expressed their joy at finding their property and thanked the attendants, the ship team and the Ship Leader for their enthusiastic support.

Previously, at 7:20 p.m. on December 31, 2025, train SE3 departed from Hanoi Station and arrived at Saigon Station at 5:15 a.m. on January 2, 2026. After dispatching the passengers to get off the train, the staff in charge of carriage No. 6 conducted an inspection and collected their belongings and received information that there were passengers to forget their belongings on the train.
Through inspection, the attendants discovered that in room number 5, bed number 18, there was a black women's handbag kept in the pillowcase. Report to the Ship Leader and coordinate with the security force and the ship team to check inside the handbag, identifying a used black wallet containing more than 16 million VND in cash, along with identification documents and 13 bank credit cards.
All assets were then handed over to passengers in accordance with regulations.
