Mr. Nguyen Luong Tam re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Health Trade Union
On December 26, the 15th Congress of the Vietnam Health Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term took place with the participation of 165 official delegates.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen - Deputy Minister of Health attended the solemn session.
With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress objectively and comprehensively assessed the results achieved in the 2023-2025 period; clearly analyzed the shortcomings, limitations, causes and drew lessons from more than 2 years of implementing the Resolution of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Health Trade Union; at the same time, determined the direction, goals, targets, tasks and key solutions for the 2025-2030 term.
At the second session, the Congress elected 27 members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Health Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term. At the first conference, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Health Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term elected 9 members of the Standing Committee, 1 Chairman, 2 Vice Chairmen, and elected the Inspection Committee for the XV term, 2025-2030. Mr. Nguyen Luong Tam was re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Health Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term; Vice Chairmen: Vu Anh Tuan, Pham Thi Thanh Thuy.
Also at the congress, the delegates unanimously elected 7 delegates representing all workers and civil servants in the health sector to attend the 15th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The Congress agreed on the targets for the new term, including the establishment of 5 new grassroots trade unions, actual development of an increase of 3,000 union members; 100% of union officials at all levels were trained and fostered in professional theory, working skills; digital skills and digital practice in trade union activities; 100% of new grassroots trade union chairmen were trained and fostered by higher-level trade unions.
In addition, at least 90% of enterprise-based trade unions sign collective labor agreements with employers, of which 95% of collective labor agreements have more beneficial content than the provisions of law...
The Congress identified 3 breakthroughs in the new term, including:
Focus resources on performing the task of caring for, representing, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees, focusing on implementing the Grassroots Democracy Regulations, dialogue, negotiation, signing and implementation of collective labor agreements, especially on working conditions, benefits and wages.
Building and organizing the implementation of the movement "Innovation, breakthrough in caring for, protecting and improving the health of all people, towards the satisfaction and trust of the people"; "Vietnam Health Trade Union accompanies the health of union members and workers" ...
Promote innovation, strongly apply digital transformation in trade union activities, especially in financial work, union member management, and providing trade union welfare services.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen - Deputy Minister of Health praised, highly appreciated and congratulated the comprehensive results that the Vietnam Health Trade Union has achieved in the past term.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung emphasized 5 key tasks of the Vietnam Health Trade Union in the coming time, in which the Vietnam Health Trade Union needs to put health workers at the center of development, linking care for workers' lives with developing human resources in the health sector.
The Vietnam Health Trade Union needs to continue to strongly innovate activities to care for the lives, represent and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; focus on effectively solving specific issues of the industry such as regimes, policies, occupational allowances, working conditions and environment, occupational safety and legal protection in the process of performing professional tasks.
In addition, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor needs to innovate political and ideological education work associated with raising awareness of the law, professional ethics and the courage of workers in the health sector; promote the patriotic emulation movement, promote improving the quality of expertise, science, technology and digital transformation in the health sector.
Along with that, building a strong and capable Vietnam Health Trade Union to represent, protect and accompany workers; innovating methods of gathering and mobilizing union members and workers in non-public health facilities and medical and service facilities.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor needs to promote the role of trade unions in participating in building and perfecting health policies; promoting the role of supervision and social criticism; actively participating in giving comments and recommendations to build and perfect mechanisms and policies directly related to cadres, union members, and workers in the health sector, especially policies on training, use, treatment, protection and honoring of health workers...
