Having picked up nearly 40 million VND, the young man immediately brought it to the ward police
Thanh Hoa - After picking up nearly 40 million VND left at the ATM, a young man quickly went to the ward police station to ask for the person who dropped it to return it.
On January 2, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that Dong Quang Ward Police had just verified and returned nearly 40 million VND to the person left at the ATM.

Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025, at MB Bank's ATM on Tran Phu Street, Hac Thanh Ward, Mr. Tran Van An (born in 1997, residing in Tan Son Street, Dong Quang Ward) discovered the money left in the Slot while making the transaction. The amount includes 59 500,000 VND bills and 100 100,000 VND bills, with a total value of 39.5 million VND.
Immediately afterwards, Mr. An brought the entire amount to Dong Quang Ward Police to hand over, asking the police to find the person who dropped it to return it.
Upon receiving the incident, Dong Quang Ward Police quickly coordinated with relevant units to extract camera footage of the ATM area, review previous transactions, and post information on social networking sites to find the owner of the money.
In a short time, the police force identified the person who dropped it and completed the return procedures according to regulations.
Directly receiving the money back, Ms. Le Thi Hop (born in 1989, residing in Hoang Hoa commune) said that on the afternoon of December 31, she went to the ATM to deposit 40 million VND into her account. Due to incorrect operation, the machine did not receive the money and only returned a 500,000 VND bill.
Thinking that the transaction was unsuccessful, she took the bill away without knowing that there was still 39.5 million VND in the Slot. When she was contacted by the police, she discovered that she had been negligent and forgotten the money.
After receiving the property back, Ms. Hop was moved and sent her thanks to Mr. Tran Van An and Dong Quang Ward Police.
