Quang Tri workers spread their affection for the Cuban people

Recently, the movement to support the Cuban people has been actively responded to by many union members and workers in Quang Tri. This practical action not only demonstrates the spirit of sharing but also affirms the strong solidarity of the Vietnam - Cuba relationship.

Typically, the Party Committee of Jinquan Vietnam Tourism Tools Company Limited (Nam Dong Ha Industrial Park, Nam Dong Ha Ward) organized a donation program in a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day. The collective of workers and laborers here has donated 10.78 million VND, transferred to the Quang Tri Provincial Red Cross Society to send to the Cuban people.

Along with that, at the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the month, Quang Tri General Hospital launched a fundraising campaign with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba's love". Speaking at the ceremony, BSCKII. Phan Xuan Nam - Party Secretary, Director of the Hospital emphasized: The Vietnam - Cuba relationship is a special, loyal, pure friendship, a rare symbol in the history of world diplomacy. When Cuba faces difficulties, the spirit of solidarity and sharing needs to be promoted even more".

As a result, officers, civil servants and employees of the Provincial General Hospital have donated 244.987 million VND. This is a great source of encouragement, conveying the deep affection of Quang Tri workers to the brotherly Cuban people.

According to Vice President of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Tai Minh, the mobilization of union members and workers to support the Cuban people has been implemented synchronously by grassroots unions, receiving positive responses. On August 20, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor issued Document No. 107/LDLD-CTCD launching the program "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba affection", with a campaign period of 65 days (from August 13 to October 16, 2025).

According to the instructions, each individual is encouraged to contribute at least one day's salary, while collectives and businesses participate depending on their ability and social responsibility. The form of contribution can be transferred directly to the Quang Tri Provincial Red Cross Society or paid in cash at the association's headquarters.

This is a practical way to gather community strength, spread the spirit of "helping others is also helping yourself", true to the tradition of international solidarity of the Vietnamese people.

Mr. Nguyen Tai Minh emphasized: "This is an opportunity for union members and workers in Quang Tri to express their affection and responsibility towards the Cuban people, while contributing to fostering the special friendship that President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro have worked hard to foster".

The meaning of a lasting love

Quang Tri is a land that received valuable support from international friends during the fierce years of the war. Therefore, workers here always enjoy the value of sharing. The hearts sent to Cuba today are an extension of that tradition of affection.

Trade unions in the province are continuing to promote propaganda and mobilization to help the movement to support the Cuban people spread more widely. Every penny contributed, no matter how small, is a vivid testament to the pure international spirit and the loyal solidarity that the people of the two countries have for each other.

Through donation activities, Quang Tri workers not only show affection for international friends but also contribute to affirming the role of the Trade Union as a bridge between the hearts of workers and noble human values.
