Improving legal knowledge to protect workers' rights in Hai Phong

Hai Phong City Labor Federation organized a training conference on the 2024 Trade Union Law for more than 600 full-time Trade Union officials and establishments in the western area of the city.

The conference not only provides knowledge, skills and labor law expertise for Trade Union officials at all levels in the city but also helps improve qualifications, train courage, and create conditions for Hai Phong Trade Union officials to effectively carry out their tasks and meet the requirements in the new context.

At the conference, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that the Trade Union Law (amended) effective from July 1, 2025 is an opportunity for the Trade Union to affirm its role as a companion to workers.

Therefore, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan suggested that cadres focus on learning and discussing, thereby effectively applying the law to practical activities at the grassroots level.

Reporter Le Dinh Quang - former Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the Drafting Committee of the Trade Union Law, presented new points of the Trade Union Law, such as expanding the scope of regulation, allowing workers without labor relations and foreign workers to participate in the Trade Union, adding the concept of "grassroots trade union" and the right to social supervision and criticism.

According to Mr. Pham Dinh Hoa - Chairman of the Trade Union of Tinh Loi Garment Company Limited, disseminating the Law on Social Insurance to workers is a necessary task, helping workers protect their rights.

At the same time, raise awareness of rights and obligations in labor relations, thereby contributing to building a safe, fair and effective working environment.

At the conference, union officials received knowledge and exchanged experiences, contributing to improving capacity, strengthening the role of the Union, and proactively and effectively protecting the rights of workers.
